RACIST ENVIRONMENT. COLD STAFF. I’ve always opted to order delivery due to the one time my boyfriend and I decided to try them out ans was immediately greeted with distasteful stares and sat ignored by staff until I got up to get assistance 20 minutes in. The food portions were huge and the food was good however we strayed from visiting again. I ordered delivery recently after 2 years of avoiding this place and really enjoyed my Brussels sprouts and wanted them again for days. I went for take out and ended up with Dixie fries. I called the restaurant prefacing it could possibly have been my error while rushing. They apologized and told me it was no need to place a new order or bring the fries back and they were making them right then. I got there and was approached by a hostile server who blamed me for the issue with an extremely argumentative demeanor despite my repeating that I was willing to pay if it was my mistake. She angrily walked off while stating she didn’t know what the kitchen was doing in regards to remaking the order. Moments later a cold manager came out reiterating the same while I again offered to pay nicely. She said the kitchen was then starting my order and she’d ring me soon. I sat there shocked at the interactions, the rude stares of the patrons the moment I stepped in the door and decided despite how much i really looked forward to my order, though small, they didn’t deserve my business. My boyfriend also felt the same when picking up my initial order however we’re quiet and chill people who let a lot roll off our back but today? These interactions truly shook me to the core and reminded me why I truly hate old Moncks Corner and can’t wait until businesses like this are bought out. If I can’t be treated like all the other diners no matter who I am then it isn’t the place for me or anyone...
Read moreCame for brunch with some friends. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, which I appreciated. I ordered the biscuits and gravy, but after one bite I realized everything was cold—the biscuit, the gravy, all of it. On top of that, there was no flavor at all, and no seasoning available at the table. The waitress noticed right away, asked if I’d like something else instead, and took the plate back.
I then ordered the cheeseburger wrap, which was actually good and satisfying. However, when the bill came, I noticed the biscuits and gravy were still on there. When I asked about it, I was told they would only “discount” it rather than remove it. That felt strange, since in the past when I’ve had to send food back (which has only been a couple of times), I was never charged. On top of that, they charged separately for the cheese on the cheeseburger wrap—even though I didn’t ask for a special type of cheese or any modification.
Overall, while the service itself was kind, the way the charges were handled left me with a bad taste. Between the cold, flavorless food and the odd billing practices, I...
Read moreMy husband, daughter and I relocated to Goose Creek from Indianapolis, IN, 4 months ago, so we are still in the process of trying new places to eat. To be honest, we weren't planning on eating at Tail Race Tavern several weeks back, but I am sure glad we did. We were planning to eat somewhere else, but when we got there we found out they were closed on Mondays, so I did a quick Google search to see what was open in the area and found Tail Race Tavern.
I will admit when we first walked in I didn't have the highest of hopes, but boy was I wrong (that's what I get for judging a book by its cover...). The food and the service was great! I ordered the club sandwich with fries, my husband got the Philly and our daughter got the sliders - both with the mixed veggies. I know it sounds strange, but I keep thinking about that club sandwich I ordered (which was probably the best one I have ever tasted - it's the lemon aioli that gives it something special). The waitress was very kind and even made a comment to us about our daughter being so well-behaved. Thank you. We will...
