This was my first time ordering from Salvatore’s, aside from a couple slices bought at various events. I was thoroughly impressed. First, the ease of ordering was as simple as using Google Maps to identify restaurants in the vicinity of where I was leaving before heading home. I ordered the Mortadella Pinsa Romano sandwich, not quite knowing what to expect, but sold on pesto aïoli. I was impressed at their takeout cocktail options, happy to find some cider on the short but varied list. ToastTab told me to expect a 30-35 minute wait, but my small pick-up order was ready just 20 minutes into that, which was a pleasant surprise as I was very hungry and simply planning to wait in my car the whole time. The restaurant seemed smallish and quaint, but very clean. In line, I noticed that they used nice red curtains to help divide the space, and that the dining room looked very open, comfortable, and much more sit-down-friendly than I would have expected from a “pizza place”. An older couple the young waiter was talking to at a table could have easily been just as well-placed in a scene from a much more expensive and fancy Italian restaurant, and looked as comfortable. The candles on the tables brought a lot to the atmosphere. I got a very old-school, family-focused vibe from the staff and the gentleman I could see sitting back-of-house. I was very quickly & easily handed my order with sincere friendliness, and off I was. Tempted to eat while driving due to my hunger, I snapped open the lid and got a whiff of something much more green than I had expected, and quickly realized this sandwich deserved a proper sit-down. It didn’t last long once I got in the door. The tastes were well balanced, the cheese fresh and delicious. I was so well satiated that, when prompted to leave a review, I actually stopped to take the time to. Thanks for a delicious and well-rounded...
Read moreFirst time visiting this brand. Had been meaning to check it out for awhile. Cool decor and interesting menu. Was tasked with buying pizza for my family of five, mostly vegetarian.
I bought 2 x 16” cheese pizzas and 2 side salads. With tip it was around $65. Expensive, but for good pizza it’s worth it imho.
Pizzas took around 35m. Waited in the parking lot.
Drove them home and only one was cheese. The other was a pepperoni with honey and peppers or something like that. No problem. Accidents happen.
I call the store and explain the situation. Apparently they already knew all about it. I asked them to deliver one cheese pizza to my house. Family hungry. Not nearly enough pizza. No food at home.
Guy stammers awhile and says ok. Then he puts me on hold for like 10m. Then comes back and says that my house (which is

However, the difference with this "place" is that their guests have already PAID for their meals because their whole set-up is not very restaurant-like and frankly, unwelcoming.
I ordered the Fried Calamari as an appetizer and then a tomato pizza pie. I waited, and waited, and waited for the appetizer to arrive. Finally, it did COLD with my pizza pie. And it was half jalapeno peppers - which was not indicated on the menu and I would not have ordered it then. Can I tell you how yucky cold calamari is? Bleh. I was afraid to return it to the kitchen for a fresh order, considering how long it took to arrive. Meanwhile, some time passed before my dinner partner'appetizer arrived - mediocre wings with a blue cheese dip that was too watery. His entree never arrived. We had to ask for a refund. How much reasonable time can one put in to wait for their freaking meal to arrive?
Some thoughts on their pizza: the crust is crunchy on the outside and soft and doughy on the outside, not what a true pizza crust should be. Despite the name, it is not authentic pizza.
The wait staff was friendly and sympathetic to our plight. The kitchen staff could care less and was busy doing something else, not restaurant-like.
If you go, expect to wait forever for your meal to arrive, treat it like an existential experience, and prepare to go...
