Hot Breads, now rebranded as Currys & Cakes, offers a unique culinary experience that blends traditional Indian flavors with modern bakery delights. This establishment has successfully transformed itself, expanding its menu while maintaining its commitment to quality.
*Food Quality: *⭐⭐⭐⭐ The quality of both the savory and sweet offerings is commendable. The curries are flavorful and authentic, while the cakes and pastries are fresh and well-crafted.
*Menu Variety: *⭐⭐⭐ The expanded menu is a standout feature. From traditional Indian curries to contemporary cakes and pastries, there's something for every palate. The fusion items, like curry puffs are particularly interesting. Daily special items seems to be more interesting.
*Taste: *⭐⭐⭐⭐ Flavors are bold and satisfying. Some dishes could use fine-tuning, but overall, the taste is very good. Add some extra spice to the Biryani's to feel more authentic.
*Freshness: *⭐⭐⭐⭐ Everything tastes freshly made. The breads and pastries have that just-baked quality, and the curries taste like they're made in small batches.
*Atmosphere: *⭐⭐⭐ The space is clean and functional, but could benefit from more ambiance. It's suitable for quick meals or takeout, small space for dining, capable for leisure dining.
*Service: *⭐⭐⭐⭐ Staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Service is generally quick, which is great for those on the go.
Value: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Prices are reasonable given the quality and portion sizes.
*Overall: *⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hot Breads - Now Currys & Cakes successfully bridges the gap between a traditional Indian eatery and a modern bakery. It's a great spot for those craving authentic Indian flavors alongside sweet treats.

Read moreDreadfully disappointed. Wife out with friends this evening so I'm free to have Indian (I love, she does not). Just moved to area so I'm excited to try the new places. This was first.l place I tried. Menu is not great. Lists items, but no descriptions. So decided to drop in rather than call ahead to get some context. Small place. Maybe 4 booths. Obviously designed for pickup/delivery. Not 100% clean or nice. Very run down. Not huge issue if food good. Two guys on counter and one running back and forth to the kitchen. They were just finishing a pickup order when I walked to counter. Sadly menu in store equally terse. Just names of items. Waited for help. Other folk came in to collect pick up and were helped. I waited. After 2 more folk after me were helped I figured I'd skip asking for advice and just order a random vegetarian curry. After the 3rd guy coming in after me was helped, I walked out. It possible they prioritize pickups. But while I was waiting to be served, they took two call-in orders (putting me further back on the list). Sadly I also wonder if me being the only non Indian being served was a factor. Possibility they had no time for folk who were not conversant with the food being served. And honestly there seemed to be a stream of happy clients, so I'm sure the food is good. But I'm not going back. There are other options for Indian food. Instead I just nipped 2 doors down to the Chinese where they had a very passable general tou's tufu. Sad to have not tried. But if they don't want my custom, I'll spend my...
Read moreAs a customer of HotBreads, I am extremely disappointed by the quality of the food I received. I ordered Tandoori Salmon and Tandoori Chicken Wings, but what I received was far from what I expected. The food quality was abysmal, and the customer experience was extremely poor.
The Tandoori Salmon was dry and tasteless, and it was clear that the fish was not fresh. It was a struggle to eat, and I could barely swallow it down. The Tandoori Chicken Wings were no better. They were overcooked and lacked the signature tangy flavor that I have come to expect from this restaurant.
This is not the first time that I have ordered from this restaurant, and it's unfortunate to say that the quality of the food has declined over the years. It's clear that the restaurant is cutting corners to save costs, and it's the customers who are paying the price.
As a loyal customer, I urge the restaurant to take a serious look at their food quality and customer service. Customers should not have to suffer poor quality food and a poor experience. I hope that the restaurant takes the necessary steps to improve their food quality, customer service, and overall experience. Otherwise, I fear that they will lose loyal customers like me, who have been with...
