Catfish King Restaurant — Restaurant in Monroe

This place hasn't changed in 40 years as far as looks. My office ordered lunch & it just wasn't the same. The hushpuppies aren't the cylindrical goodness I remember from my childhood anymore & they don't taste the same. The pinto beans don't have the thick liquor like they used to either. The fish are still good, but that's hard to mess up. The tartar sauce is more mayo than anything & apparently, the girl that took the order doesn't know the difference between cocktail sauce & ketchup. Not to mention, when I called the order in, she repeated it back to me & when I got there she tried to argue, saying we only ordered 2 plates. She needs to be placed elsewhere because I'm not the only one who had this issue with her that day. The food is subpar compared to what it used to be & that's sad since this was a place I always looked forward to going as a kid. Bring the proper Catfish King hushpuppies & good pinto beans...

Just curious how this business determines its closing time. I went to eat there on Thursday 2/4 but before making the 44 mile round trip I verified that their dining room was open and the closing time was at 8 pm. Made the commute and walked in the door at 7:38 pm. The lady at the front desk said that the dining room was now closed but we could place a Togo order. There were several people still eating in the dining area when we got there. We declined and went to Catfish Charlie’s.... I won’t be back to Catfish King for quite a while. IMO if your dining room closes at 8 then you should seat people up to 8 otherwise list your dining room closing times earlier than your drive through to allow serving your dining guest.... I usually don’t drive through West Monroe to Monroe to eat and this will be another reason to add to my list of...

My 1st time going here was my last time only thing that was hot and fresh on my plate was my shirmp fish was old & cold fries was to I spent 35 dollars on that food which I feel was high and for it not to be fresh really made me mad it's nothing but kids working in there just standing around doing nothing someone should have been cleaning these nasty windows or something but instead they we're just standing around doing nothing waited for about 15 min for my food to come out and it was cold my plate wasn't even hot at all was so cold couldn't even smell the food I tried to call the corporate number but it's always busy when I call I called the number all day ....... there should be people working in there that wants to work if I'm paying that much for food I expect it to be fresh and hot don't eat here!!!!! Full of kids...
