Front Street Diner — Restaurant in Monroe

Very clean restaurant. The service was great. The other waitresses were friendly too, and even topped off my coffee when serving their tables. The food came out quickly. I ordered the grilled chicken breast which is smothered in grilled green peppers, mushrooms, onions and mozzarella cheese. This could be improved though...the chicken was thin cutlets, one of the thinner ones was very rubbery, slightly thicker pieces of chicken will result in tender and juicy chicken. The chicken also didn't seem to have any seasoning, but whatever, I added salt. The green peppers, onion, and mushroom didn't appear to be grilled, this would've been much better if they were fried in a little butter or oil until browned. It wasn't horrible, I ate it, but it could certainly be made better with some simple improvements, it was pretty bland. With the dinner you get an entree, soup or salad, a veggie, and a choice of a potato, plus they bring a bread basket. That's a lot of food, and my dinner was only $8.49, so I really shouldn't complain, the vegetable choice seems like kind of an afterthought though. They had a choice of corn or green beans. We chose green beans because we are watching carbs, they were cold, mushy, canned green beans. Cooked frozen veggies would be a better option, like some steamed broccoli, or mixed veggies, but like I said you're getting a lot of food for the price so I shouldn't complain too much. My daughter had fries, and they could've been fresher. I think this is probably a great lunch spot for simple coney island type foods. Dinners probably are going to be pretty basic. Some other positives other than the great service and cleanliness were the coffee. They have great coffee. Each pot is freshly ground. It's akin to a full-bodied donut shop coffee, very close to Dunkin Doughnuts, if you like weak coffee, you won't like this, it's about medium strength. I would totally come in just for their coffee. The homemade buttermilk ranch was soooo good! I would give this place...

Our office had five different pick up orders. I called and she couldn't even get the initial order correct until I repeated myself 4 times. It was 30 minutes for the order to be ready according to the lady when it would be ready. I went and picked it up. I asked to make sure everything was in there. She verified everything was in there. When I got back to our office, half the food was freezing cold & things were missing. When I called to inform them about it and see what they could to do make it right (since we paid for the missing food). The lady on the phone first informed me the reason the food was cold was because I walked outside and then drove LESS THAN A HALF MILE back to the office. The other reason they forgot the food was because they said they were too busy. If a DINER is too busy to get an order right than maybe they shouldn't be in business. She also proceeded to blame me for not knowing the food was missing and why it was cold. She then proceeded to say that she stated she was sorry and she didn't know what else she can do about it. She then said if I wanted to bring it ALL back and wait another 30 minutes she would cook it again. I think that this place needs to go to a class or two about customer service and how to treat customers. Blaming the customer for them making the food wrong and it being cold when I literally had a 3 minute drive is very very unacceptable. This is the worst customer experience I have ever had. Absolutely amazing my boys like to eat and we love mom n pop type atmospheres and this was an 10star for us the place it’s self is seems like a mash up of lots of amazing dishes from omelettes to sandwiches and more the menu is amazing cuz it’s full off lots of options something for everyone the food is definitely worth it but I also noticed the staff are all very friendly weather it was a bright smile or some short sweet convo with the locals my father who passed last yr was a navy vet it was amazing to see the window walking in covered with all branches of local veterans as we are not as picky as some we didn’t mind the ceiling being a little older and was kinda funny and gave us table convo of the ceiling tiles still covered in Christmas wrapping paper however window seals cracks and crevices were clean and free of any debris I enjoyed the food so much I forgot to get a couple pictures if ur passing through it’s a great place to dine at any point of the day and get REALLY GOOD SERVICE FOOD and prices are...
