Where to start? The front staff were short with me entering through the door when I was explaining that I wanted to order from the menu and not buffet. I ordered the beef and broccoli which came with an egg roll, soup (I got egg drop) and fried rice.
The egg drop was alright taste wise, but very thick and dark orange. The egg roll was about the size of my pinky and not much thicker. I believe the meat was pork which is fine. However where I was really displeased was when my plate arrived.
The "egg fried rice" had almost no egg in it and looked like saffron rice (it is completely dark yellow) with a few pieces of carrots, onion, and peas in it. The "beef" and broccoli was really PORK and undercooked broccoli.
The pork was slathered in a thick sauce which I presume was meant to cover the very distinct pork flavor. I'm guessing it was a sauce that was made from beef bullion, it was VERY salty, too salty. And that's saying something because I like salty foods. The sauce couldn't cover the pork flavor, and it couldn't cover the pork texture either.
Maybe some people wouldn't care that they are being charged for beef (the most expensive meat) when they are getting pork instead (the least expensive meat available), however there are many people that for religious reasons abstain from eating pork. I find that to be really egregious, shady, and disrespectful that they would do such a thing!
If they are willing to do that, where else do they try to cut corners. It's sad to say the thing I enjoyed eating most was the undercooked broccoli. I wouldn't recommend this...
Read moreI'm marking this a 5 cause normally every time we go the food is good. The last time I definitely wasn't impressed. The food was old and super greasy. That being said it was the first time ever going and the food was like that. I'm guessing it was a bad day or bad time to go. However, I did put the service as a three. They always seem in a huge rush. There are days where they talk so fast. That being said, don't get me wrong. They're pretty much always giving you drinks and things that you need. I have to say it definitely makes me feel like I'm being rushed to order. Sometimes I don't always know what I want to drink so it takes a min. Other than that is not really a problem. I just don't like feeling rushed. Everything stated above will not change the fact that I love this place yet. I will still keep going there. If you haven't tried it, you definitely should. It's one of the best Chinese places in the area. Correction, that's actually probably the only Chinese restaurant I will...
Read moreMy sister and I had the buffet lunch today. The food we had was very good--spring rolls, fried rice, General Tsao chicken, and shrimp. Because of the pandemic, the food on the buffet was behind clear plastic and served by employees of the restaurant. The portions were generous. The cost for both of us, including taxes and drinks, was $23. I was glad to see that all employees in the restaurant were wearing masks but very disappointed that many of the customers were not. There was a sign on the door saying that masks were required but this is not enforced. Two men walked in right before us and neither was wearing a mask. When I asked the cashier about the mask policy, he replied that some customers chose not to wear one. WHAT IS THE POINT OF THE MASK POLICY IF IT IS...
