Jud's is a small, diner-type family restaurant that serves what most would consider 'country cookin'. They seem to run out of the daily meat special by 2 p.m. most days, so if you're going for dinner you're just out of luck. The food is hit or miss a lot of times, but the wait staff is always extremely friendly. This is one of my Dad's favorite places to eat right now, so we go regularly...... and it's more for the waitresses than for the food for me. They always have a smile, they're always in a good mood, they're attentive without hovering. Their club sandwich and grilled (or fried) chicken chef salad are very good.
ETA: We were there today around 2 p.m. They were not busy at all. We had been there almost 10 minutes before someone come to ask what we wanted to drink. When part of our group was telling her what he didn't want in his burger she interrupted him and rudely asked "Well what DO you want on it?". She never came back to fill drinks, and when she dropped the check off we asked for a box, which she never brought. I asked again when paying the bill and she huffed and said she'd have to go get it. We had asked 10-15 minutes prior. However, as bad as our server was, the salad was great! My granddaughter also really enjoyed her grilled cheese. We may, or may not, return in the future. I'm trying to give her the benefit of the doubt and hope she was just...
Read moreThis is probably the last time we try Judds. I’m from Union County, so I know they have been around a long time. But the past several times we have been in, it has been money wasted. They always run out of things, which we knew, but took a chance anyway. And yep, they were out of 3 things that we wanted to order. We ordered something else. My husband ordered a salad and got nothing but a bowl of lettuce and a tomato. Just call it what it is. Not a salad, it’s a bowl of lettuce. He asked for half and half tea, but only got unsweetened tea. Our order finally came out, but both our orders were wrong. They brought out the correct order but the mac n cheese was fridge cold. The cornbread made a sound when it hit the plate it was so hard. I was sick I had to pay for this. I will say, the waitress was...
Read moreI was recommended this place by the staff at dukes. Because Dukes is not open on sundays. I ordered the grits, a country ham and egg sandwich, and my friend ordered The livermush and egg sandwich. The grits were okay , but not as great as they were at dukes. That countryham was so tasty you could think that pig had a name in a great life before it was slaughtered.
Now, when it comes to the service. These ladies were on the top of their game. My coffee cup never got near way empty before one of them walked by asking if you needed to be topped off. Anytime one of them passed an occupied table, they engaged with the customer. You don't see this great service to many places
