La Unica has been our all time favorite but on Indian Trail location!! Due to our current move this was our first time visit in Monroe location... Let's start from the all begginings.. After we got sat down we waited and waited and waited for our waitress to come up to us with their chip and dip, my hubby started trying to get their attention by waving at them, Yay!!!! Success!!! They have seen his hand after at least 10-15 minutes of waiting for sure!! We got our chip and dip!! Time to order! We couldn't loose them for a moment so we ordered as soon as we caught them! Sooo we waited and waited for our meals for extended time compare to million of the LA Unica experiences we had previously. We kept on bugging all kind of waiters walking next to us to get refills on drinks, chips and dips cause service was sooooooo great!!!.. Finally our food came!! She dropped off a plate for my hubby, I asked for two extra plates and she left with our other two meals on her hand to get the plates?!?! Idk it's not Halloween yet but that was a goooood trick! So we waited and waited and waited for the other 2 meals to come back and they just wouldn't, after 10 minutes I thought hey this is fun let me put a timer on!.. So my hubbys plate was hanging out on the side of the table for another 20 minutes after timing them, waiting for our "back ordered meals"!!! That's when I had to pop!! And I did! Soooo all of a sudden we got aaall of our requests come in at the same time that we've been asking for! Our food came in 5 min later on a steaming hot plate! Wow! Congratulations you proved it - We did have a veeeery authentic Mexican experience in this LA Unica location and questioning myself why?!... Ummmmm 🤔 because we're not Hispanics!!!! And 99% of the guests in the restaurant are, so THEY are THEIR FIRST priority!!!! I'm still shocked how we didn't leave cause it took us 2 hours to eat for lunch!!
Not just because I'm still so mad for disgrace at this place, my honest opinion that Pollo LA Crema on INDIAN TRAIL LOCATION tastes better than their similar dish Pollo Fundido In Monroe location. And Indian Trail location definitely has a better Steak Burrito dinner than this location that offers same dish under different name. Oh and way better chips for dip! OOOH AND INDIAN TRAIL LOCATION HAS THE NICEST HISPANIC LADIES TAKING CARE OF YOU THAT ACTUALLY DESERVE A TIP!!! You pay for what...
Read moreJoined friends for lunch at Taqueria La Unica & enjoyed a wonderful meal . Chips & salsas are served after being seated along with some excellent Pico De Gallo & Creamy cheese dip . Chips were fresh & crispy . The salsas & other items so good that you can't stop eating them . Our group ordered chicken fajitas , shrimp quesadilla with guacamole salad , chicken soup , Torte sandwich with fries . Cheesecake that was a shared dessert . The chicken soup had an excellent broth full of fresh vegetables & chicken with noodles . Shrimp quesadilla was luscious full of cheese & chopped shrimp . The torta was a classic Mexican sandwich full of beef , ham , hotdog , fried egg , beans , avocado, lettuce, tomato & more . My husband greatly enjoyed it & took half home as it is a large sandwich . The chicken fajitas were served sizzling with plentiful vegetables, rice , beans & tortillas . Our friends enjoyed them & ate every bite . The dessert was a three layered dessert of a mousse type topping of strawberry , a layer of sponge cake, the last layer a rich layer of cheesecake . Served garnished with whipped cream & strawberry syrup . Rich & so delicious. The food is very authentic Mexican food here & many excellent dishes to choose from . Weekends they serve Menudo soup & a Seafood soup as well . Open for lunch & dinner . Plenty of parking & a handicapped ramp on sidewalk by handicapped...
Read more#Resturant under new management. We needed to make adjustments because my father and I have have shrip allergies. My husband has a soy allergy. He asked for fish instead of shrimp for his fajitas. He has done this substitution for about 6 months now. The waitress looked at him like he was crazy. He explained that he has had this substitution previously. They said that they could charge him the price of a fish burrito ($6 more) even though he was not getting the shrimp on his fajitas. We decided that was too much of an up charge. She stopped after that and left the table without taking mine or my husband order to go talk to a cute guy that had just walked in. One of the other waitresses saw what happened and came over to take our order. I do not know what is hoing on at this resturant since the change but that was very unprofessional. This occured on Monday April 3 at 6:15pm. She was the only waitress wearing a red shirt on this day. The reason for leaving this bit of information is I am hoping whoever is in charge of this restaurant reads this and has talk with this waitress. She was not wearing a name tag. I love this restaurant and want to continue to eat here but not if a waitress walks aways from our table without taking everyone's order...
