Rodeway Inn — Hotel in Monroe

The front desk lately was being racist to my 21 year old son because (he is Hispanic) who I paid for a room for, we booked through choice hotels and when my son got there she tried to tell him they don’t accept payment through choice hotels or third parties even though she charged my card, she was trying to convince them to pay her directly, which is a SCAM!!! BECAUSE IT WAS ALREADY PAID FOR!! She refused to give my son his room cards even though he had a fully paid confirmation in hand, had him leave then CHECKED HIM IN so we couldn’t get a refund. We asked for a supervisor who is “unavailable” and she refused to get ahold of him Now we have to wait at their mercy to get a refund?? BFFR!!!! Not to mention she sounds high and can’t give a straight answer whatsoever. This is all on the front desk ladies not the manager who I spoke with when I confirmed the reservation earlier, who was way more professional and nice to deal with. I’m not sure what that ladies issue is aside from the fact she saw his skin color and immediately started acting out!!

The bedding was outdated and had tons of stains, blood included. The pillowcases were disgusting as well. We were afraid to touch anything. There were nothing but homeless people on the property and kept bothering us. I was afraid to even go out of the room. Those who had a room were doing drugs and were filthy. The room next door was a woman who did nothing but scream and curse and was smoking weed. I will NEVER stay there again and will NEVER recommend this place. The room and property and other people were so bad that we didn’t even stay. We ended up leaving around 8:00pm because we didn’t feel safe. I wish I could get my money and points back. There were even scary people in the lobby. The owner did not even care. I have always stayed with Choice Hotels but this is by far the worst place I have even seen. It’s like a crack hotel....

I am glad that I came across this little diamond in the rough. At first I was a lil hesitant but after my check in with the front desk and booking my stay I was very impressed. East and fast check in. Helpful and friendly. This hotel Relax Inn Monroe NC was one of the cheaper hotels and it was clean. The rooms were spacious, clean and quiet. Not one time while staying there did I see any bugs at all. Something that I am VERY appreciative of. The housekeepers were very attentive making sure that I had everything that I needed while I was staying with them. I will most definitely return and recommend for anyone to stop by and stay with them. You will not be disappointed. I enjoyed my stay and will most definitely return next time for my future trips.
