If I could give this restaurant a big fat 0 I would. First of all we had reservations tonight, July 25th at 7:15pm for my stepsons 19th birthday & also for his going away party into the Navy. We had made this reservation with specific instructions about being seated away from other people because my in-laws are elderly and they are very concerned about getting the coronavirus. The lady that my husband spoke with that took our reservations suggested that they had 3 separate tables in the back room because they rarely ever use those tables. We had a party of 10 people so we were going to let my in-laws sit at a table by themselves, my sister and brother in law at the other table and then myself, my husband, my stepdaughter, her boyfriend, another grandparent & the birthday boy at the other table. I heard my husband make this reservation as I was sitting beside him & he had the lady on speaker phone when he made the reservation which was about 4 days ago. The lady on the phone taking the reservation was very nice & acted like this was going to be no problem at all so she booked it for us. We told her that we would be bringing a cake & presents. When we arrived last night for our scheduled reservation my in-laws were sitting on the bench at the front of the restaurant scared to death because there were people walking all around them. They had been told that we had no reservation for the back room. When my husband and I arrived the manager met us at the front of the restaurant. She was extremely rude and told my husband and myself that there was no way anyone would have ever made a reservation in the back room especially on a weekend. She even took it further and called my husband a liar right to his face! Her name, by the way, was Hailey. She also told my husband that those back rooms go for between $500-$1000 per night. We were extremely upset and she did nothing to help us. She even told us to leave. Now here we were with an ice cream cake and birthday cards with upset family members and an upset son. She was literally the rudest person I have ever encountered in my entire life!! We will never go back to the warehouse ever again thanks to your horrible manager, Hailey!!! Then with a melting ice cream cake we took a chance and went over to Doe’s and explained our situation. They had us sitting in a private room with a table for 10 people within 15 minutes. We got wonderful service and the manager there was so incredibly nice and understanding. And by a strange coincidence we had the best waitress ever and her name was Hailey of all things!! If I were you I would never step into the warehouse ever! What horrible people they have there that do not care at all about serving people and honoring their word! I really hope the owner of the warehouse reads this.

Unpopular opinion maybe, but I think this place is totally overrated and way overpriced. I’ve been here three times now at the insistence of others and I’m just not impressed.

Food: This last time I upgraded my salad to a Caesar which added $5 and it was so totally lame. It was quite literally just Romain lettuce with shredded cheese on top and dressing. I should preface that I’m gluten free, so my options here are pretty limited- In the past I’ve ordered the salmon which was decent the first time, but so dry the second time that I didn’t waste the calories by eating it. I will say that the jalapeño grits were really good both times though. This last visit, I ordered the 6oz filet ($30 before the salad and side upgrades)and it was pretty decent. They nailed the medium rare cook temp and the flavor was great. I upgraded my side to the loaded baked potato- which wasn’t anything to write home about but I’m not sure how any restaurant makes this any better than another.

Regarding service, our waitress was friendly enough but we were with elderly people and they were all having a heck of a time trying to understand her because she was so soft spoken and she spoke very quickly. Ultimately she only spoke to me and I played translator for the table. Again, these were some old hard of hearing folks, so whatever, it happens.. but it was the fact that she acted put out and annoyed by it, She also didn’t bring the hush puppies until our meal came out. Speaking of the hush puppies.. I think is their replacement for bread at the start of a meal? I dunno, I’m from the north and these things still confuse me)

Atmosphere— eh… in my opinion, they have people crammed in there to a point where it really does take away from the experience. All three times I visited I was in a different part of the restaurant and all three times there were people crowding around the table trying to walk by, pushing up against your chair and servers with trays coming by right next to your face, and while they do have a live piano player - who’s actually pretty darn impressive- you can’t hear him play unless you are right by the hostess booth.

Okay, so I’ll break this down- if this was half the price, I’d be cool with the inconsistency in the quality of food and uncomfortable atmosphere, but for the price tag, the food and experience needs to be much better for me to walk away feeling...

Went with my wife for lunch just as special pick me up on the way to see her mother in ICU. We arrived and signed in was to 15 to 20 minute wait. A lady walked in after us about 5 minutes asked about how long the wait was and was told 15 to 20 minutes, the manager as the gentleman's jacket said went to seat her however she had to go park, and gather her other 2 guest dining with her. To which she did came back in and was seated. This was a downturn as it's sets the scene for first impressions are lasting. Once we got seated and our waiter finally came to take our drink order he was in a big hurry to the point I felt rushed. He took our drink order immediately followed with are you ready to order? We ordered and had to stop him to ask a question, as my wife was asking a question he just walked away quickly which to me was rude. Other wait staff brought our salads which mine was incorrect dressing spilled on it so I sent it back and the second was correct dressing with a bed if lettuce when the only thing I asked to not have was the tomatoes due to intestinal issues I can't eat them. Then other wait staff brought our meal, when we look at beverage service, I finish my tea sat there a few minutes a lady that was working the door and everywhere else asked if I had sweet tea and I said yes ma'am she said she would get some and come refill my glasses. Approximately 8 minutes later I did get a refill well a partial refill as he was running out in that pitcher and this was by a guy wearing a black jacket with manager on it. I finished my meal and oh we saw our waiter again, he filled our glasses asked if we wanted dessert, I said I did not. He popped the check on the table and was gone. My wife was eating still about halfway through her meal. Now yes I tend to eat fast thanks to 6 years in the Marine Corp with numerous combat missions, and 26 years in the oilfield. So to say I felt rushed isn't something trifle. I haven't even addressed the questions and his response that wasn't fitting. My whole thing is all in all this was a bad experience. We paid 46.52 for lunch for 2 the meal was ok not phenomenal or great nor what you would expect. My wife is always hounding me wanting to go here and eat but times never line up until this time, and now I believe you broke her and she won't...

Warehouse No 1 is beautifully set on the Ouchita River - if the weather is nice sit outside. Inside is more of the old school dining feel. They had a piano player inside who played very well, we could hear him from the patio. Our server was nice and professional. They brought complimentary jalapeño hushpuppies which were very tasty - hot and crispy. They have a decent size drink menu from beer to whiskey. I had the Louisiana Redfish with jalapeño cheese grits. The Redfish was cooked perfectly and the grits were very good. However, $45 was overpriced. It did come with an option of different salads. I chose the blue cheese wedge that had super hard bacon bits and tomatoes. I had a similar meal a few nights ago at a different restaurant and it was $28 (and was actually better). The man had the special veal shank which was served as a stew and it was a very good homey meal - again a bit overpriced compared to other local spots. I really enjoyed the duck wrap appetizer we had. It came on a corn fritter of sorts. The duck had jalapeño and cream cheese and bacon. I would definitely order this again (the duck was a bit chewy - flavor was excellent). The additional markup on the food we will chalk up to a good piano guy and a wonderful sunset. The avg price of apps are about $17. Meals are about $30 on up. There were several large families and parties so this is definitely a spot in town that can accommodate a special occasion. Our waiter was warm and friendly and made sure our drinks were full. Overall for a special occasion this would be a good spot. I appreciated the hospitality. There is plenty of parking outside.

This is hands down my favorite restaurant in Monroe and it is situated on the beautiful Ouachita River so you get a wonderful view while you eat. We go here for date nights and to celebrate all of our special occasions. I have even hosted several bridal showers and baby showers here. They have a wonderful catering menu! The wait staff is always friendly and prompt and will meet all of your needs. Now let's talk about the food! Every single dish on the menu is superb. Never had a bad meal from here! My go to dishes are the Baked oysters, oyster trio, Catfish Sierra with jalapeno cheese grits, and bread pudding for dessert. You can't go wrong with the Redfish or a perfectly cooked Peppercorn Filet. Every now and then they add a Strawberry salad to the menu and omg it is amazing! I wish they kept it all year long. If you like Old Fashions they make a fantastic one. One of the best you will find in Monroe. They garnish it with a blackberry which makes it completely different than anyone else. If you are celebrating a birthday or anniversary be sure to let your waiter know because they will provide you with a personalized piece of cheesecake and take a picture of everyone at your table and give you the picture as a free keepsake. If it's your birthday the woman that plays the piano while you eat will play happy birthday just for you. If you are going on a holiday or the weekend be sure to make a reservation because they will be busy. There is a reason they are always packed, and once you try it you will find out why!

You can’t go wrong if you dine here. The food is consistently delicious and service is always great. I’ve primarily dined at lunch for business meetings and the lunch service it well timed so you can get in and out quickly enough to get back to the office. Lunch is also priced lower than dinner. It’s a great place for special occasion dinners but reservations are highly recommended especially for those large groups. Made a last minute decision to have dinner on Friday night knowing I was going to sit at the bar. My friend Wesley, the bar manager, created several seasonal cocktails that are worth checking out. The maple old fashioned is yummy and it’s on the fall menu right now. They had an appetizer special with large plump crab claws, lightly coated then fried and served with house made remoulade and cocktail sauces. The flavors were great even though it took me a minute to mentally process a fried crab claw as I’m used to the marinated kind at Ernest Orleans restaurant in Shreveport. I also chose the surf and turf special, steak and crab au gratin. The crab au gratin was very rich but the nicely toasted breadcrumbs on top helped balance it out. The steak was cooked perfectly to order and I chose the ever popular jalapeño cheese grits for my side. Needless to say I had plenty for leftovers.
