Tonight was a surprise. No longer a craft brew house, now a full service bar. Place was busy, so that’s good. 20 minute wait for a draft beer, so that’s bad. What I saw tonight was a fun place if you’re in to crowds, but a disappointing place if you’re into a good draft beer. Been a patron for several years, purchased several kegs and lots of pints, but I didn’t recognize it tonight. Hoping this is an anomaly, but the 1/5ths behind the bar say otherwise.
I actually brought an empty keg planning to go home with 1 or 2 kegs, as I have done many times. I was told it would be at least 30 minutes before they could service me. I have never experienced this. Sure missed Nate tonight.
Was told it would be at least 30 minutes before someone could get me a keg, but stock limited. Had a couple beers and took my EMPTY keg home. So sad. Hate to go to Great Raft as my keg go to, but what can a guy do?
Update: See excellent explaination below. Growing pains for small business. Tough waters to navigate. Still a Flying Tiger Fan, and I'm sure Nate's night off was well deserved. Seems he's always there when I go in.
Planning to continue to be support...
Read moreMonroe has needed a place like this. It's fun to use as a party spot for a group. There is a great outdoor area with games (giant blocks and corn hole and some ring game) as well as tables and a large TV under the covered area. There are several tables under this covered area outside. There are dart boards and pinball machines inside as well as comfortable sitting areas with large chairs and sofas. The beer is great. I think their small batch beers that are only available at this site are their best work. They have everything from lighter Blonde, to Double IPA, to Milk Stouts to Saison. There is something for every beer lover. They will even let you bring your own food for a large party for only a small clean up fee. You need to book this early though, as their calendar is BUSY with events. A great group of guys own this place. It's always a good time. Update: Specialty pizza did not disappoint. That nitro milk stout is just sooo good on tap. The crust on this pizza is the best in town. The crust actually has...
Read more5 stars is not enough to RECOMMEND Flying Tiger. I had a bad experience, due to a perfect storm of minor missteps during my last visit. I walked out very dissatisfied, and left a bad review. The next day, the owner James Simpson called me personally, and “made it right.” He more than made up for the experience, above and beyond what I ever could have expected. We agreed that the bottom line is, your experience should be good when you walk out. Within 24 hours, I had a fantastic experience. That kind of care for customers is what makes or breaks a place, and he gave me an overall experience that was incredible. Thank you for your integrity. Every time I have gone to other FT, the food and drinks were exceptional, and I highly recommend FT. I plan on getting a shirt next time I come in, which...
