First and foremost people who really want to eat Authentic Indian cuisine DO NOT visit this place ever. Honestly speaking they don’t even deserve a 1 star for their horrible service and quality of food they serve as “Indian” food. Have eaten at so many Indian restaurants before this in USA but never have been so disappointed with taste of Indian cuisine. From appetizers to main course to desserts not a single item was tasty or even worth eating. In appetizers the vegetable pakoras were under cooked n totally tasteless. The chicken tikka and the goat curry which I tried were not even spicy or even near to the mark of taste. Then comes the worst ever chicken biryani which I have ever had in my life till date. Oh God! I don’t understand, How can one even put tomatoes in a chicken biryani?? Like seriously are you kidding me by serving such kind of food and calling it as Indian cuisine!!? Also the chicken was just added in it without any blend of spices. It seems that they had just prepared a pulao and then by adding chicken they labeled it as Chicken Biryani.. Its a big blunder and a huge disaster. Its a request to you that by offering such food you are spoiling the name of “AUTHENTIC” Indian cuisine. Also adding to that is the hygiene of restrooms and tables. They were looking as if they weren’t cleaned from like months. Waste of time...
Read moreThis is quite a great restaurant, with lots of different Indian foods. Some of them, like the Kabuli naan, are quite unique. I decided to try some classic Indian foods, and ordered the chana masala (mild spice) which came with the usual side of rice, as well as some gulab jamun.
I was very surprised by how many gulab jamun pieces they give you per order! This was definitely one of the better priced deals for such a treat. There were 4 large pieces, and all of them were plump and soaked full of sweet syrup. They did have a bit of a starnge flavor. Almost as if they were in the refrigerator with some other food. And they were extremely cold as well.
The channa masala was good, too. A nice portion for just $12. They made the food a bit too spicy for my taste, but I think they will satisfy most people who enjoy a bit of spice but not too much. Overall, it was a nice and flavorful curry. Lots of chickpeas and a curry 'sauce' that was a nice consistency.
All in all, it's a good spot to check out in Monroville. I especially think they are great when you need a good deal. The food isn't the best in the city or anything like that, but you should be satisfied. I'd recommend you also try out New India Grill if you like this place or are in Monroville craving...
Read moreI eat out often at Indian Buffets and have been to many as I have lived all over the US and growing up in Toronto, which has many excellent Indian restaurants I know what works and what does not. This is by far THE worst Indian buffet I have EVER been too. As others have mentioned it is dirty and the restaurant is drab, but thats not that the main issue. The main issue is the terrible food. The American customers who come here are being conned into thinking this is good North Indian food its NOT. Where do I start, the rice was hard, the veg dishes tasted like someone had doused ammonia in it, the butter chicken tasted like cheetos, all the dishes were just doused with random spices there was no flavor. The deserts were served cold in the dead of winter. NOBODY serves gulab jamun or rice pudding/payasam cold . The owner's surly wife was incredibly rude and uncouth and was arguing with me because I asked for the rice pudding to be warmed lol. Another thing she was dressed in a tattered top and stained leggings and a urinous odor was emanating out of her. Clearly personal hygiene is not her forte and I guess this translates into the restaurant as all. AVOID this place and just drive to restaurants...
