Road trip with my wife from Cleveland, hungry and ready for a good meal. Gyros sounded good, and 4.6⭐ reviews made the choice easy. Let me tell you, 4.6 is a low rating.
Walking in, the space is a bright and cheery yellow...clean and crisp. Ice cream freezer right at the counter full of Perry's! Fantastic! We were greeted quickly with a smile.
Wife got a lamb gyro combo, I opted for the lamb kebob platter at the suggestion of the polite gentleman behind the counter. Ordered falafel as well. Asked about drinks, he pointed to the cooler behind me. Among canned soda options and to my great delight, mango lassi!!! What a treat!
Seating is familiar, yet comfortable, with just a few small tables and chairs.
Food arrived to the table after 10-15 minute wait. Definitely not a bad thing as everything is made fresh to order.
My wife opened her gyro and WOW what a portion! Large amount of fries with her platter as well. My kebob platter was just as big as the gyro.
As I opened my container, steamy fragrance greeted me. So floral and herbal! The basmati rice was perfectly cooked, turmeric and clove notes not too strong to over power anything. The lamb kebob was hot, juicy and absolutely delicious. Again, perfect blend of herbs and not overpowering the lamb. A fresh onion, tomato, cucumber, and romaine salad was very welcome. Cool, and palette cleansing. The falafel appetizer...let me tell you those nuggets were so crispy on the outside and pillowy warm softness on the inside! AGAIN with the flavor! A nice change with bites here and there to keep the main dish flavors fresh when coming back. Idk who made these but please thank them for me!
My wife was enjoying her gyro too much to even talk. Sounds of enjoyment murmured with each bite. I would say her lamb was just a great as mine. Oh! The sauce was really good too. I don't know what it's called but creamy and fresh and delicious!
I'm a big guy, and I was full. I've had a lot of Mediterranean food, and this place takes the cake. All the others are good, too! This place is just elevated.
Final thoughts? Eat here. Just do it. Don't expect seating or parking, but go inside! It will be nice and cool inside for the summer...Get the ice cream! Get the gyro! Get the kebab! Order ahead and pick up! Whatever you can to support this wonderful gem of a restaurant! They work hard to make food fresh and you will NOT be disappointed! Tell him I sent you all the way from Cleveland, even if you're not from...
Read moreWhat a fantastic relatively new restaurant to get gyros, kebabs, and many other delicious treats! They have some more Middle Eastern style food items, and others which are Indian, and even some more Americanized food. Lots of meat. I decided to try out their brownies, chocolate chip cookie, and the chicken seekh kebab.
Everything was so, so good. The portions, the flavors, everything, it was all delicious. The chicken seekh kebab was amazing. It was tender and so tasty. It had the perfect amount and balance of spice. The rice was also tasty, fluffy, well made. Nice and fresh vegetables. That white sauce went perfectly with the meat. Highly recommend.
The two desserts I tried out were also very good. The brownie especially, absolutely delicious. It was so fudgey and filled with chocolate; I loved it. The chocolate chip cookie was also pretty good, and absolutely huge. Nice chocolate bits all throughout. I would especially recommend the brownie!
All in all, I highly recommend this place. The meat was amazing. Such a good bowl, and so fresh. The desserts are also delicious. I’d love...
Read moreI love Mediterranean food and was excited when I first saw this place was open. I figured I'd start with a gyro to see if I'd be willing to return. Let me tell you, it was amazing! The meat, fresh veggies, sauce, give such bursts of flavors. I immediately sent a text to a few friends about how impressed I was. When they tried it, they hit me back with how much they loved it. One of them, on their second trip back, discovered that they have an awesome hot sauce that they make. Needless to say, I made a stop for another gyro and got the hot sauce. I was more impressed the 2nd time than I was the 1st. And you need a fork to eat all of the stuff that falls out of the gyro because it's packed! I can't wait to make my way through the rest of the menu. The shop is clean and service is friendly. It is set up more for takeout than dine in because they're limited on space. There's only one table with 2 chairs. But I do have to say when I was there the 2nd time, the table was occupied and the man that waited on me said he'd grab a chair from the back if I wanted to eat there. That...
