This seems to be a super popular spot in Monroeville. Lots of people have said great things about their calzones, and I thought I had to try it. I ordered a large calzone and their strawberry ice cream for takeout. When I talked to the lady over the phone, she said the calzones typically came with toppings, but I just wanted it plain with cheese. Once I got to the store (at 3 pm or so, when most places aren't too busy) there was a pretty significant wait at the takeout area. The guy handed me the box with my calzone and asked if it was mine. It looked like it was, so I said yes, but... It was one of the flattest calzones I've seen in a while! There is very little inside. I understand you usually have toppings, but couldn't they just have added additional cheese? It's the same price either way. And, there is virtually no way this was a large. Don't get me wrong, it filled me up, but I wasn't stuffed. And this thing was around $17! That's crazy, even if it was big. The calzone has a unique charred flavor, which was interesting but not my favorite. It is quite bready and contains very little cheese when compared to other cheaper places. They do serve a good amount of sauce with the calzone, but it's a bit watery. I'm still shocked people call this "huge" or "the size of a small child." This was a mediocre portion at best, and it was soggy too! I asked if the peanut butter pie was made in house. It wasn't. So, I decided to try the homemade ice cream. It is nice they make it in house, but the flavor just wasn't that good. I had strawberry, and once again, the price is a bit much for the portion ($4 for one scoop). It had a weird sour cream flavor to it as well. All in all, I definitely had high expectations for this place and was thoroughly let down. The portions are way smaller for takeout, calzones taste charred, ice cream isn't very good, and the prices are quite inflated when compared to the competition.

I have to give this place 5 stars. Recommended by a local for the food and especially the beer. We had to grab a late night dinner and arrived around 9:00 on a Wednesday. The atmosphere is one of a friendly local diner. They are welcoming and know their regulars. Our waitress was super friendly, seated us immediately and discussed the menu with us. I got a Western Burger (cheddar cheese, bacon, mushrooms, and barbecue sauce) and my companions had a small meatball & roasted red pepper calzone and a Spinach & mushroom calzone. My burger was delicious and the meatball calzone was one of the all-time best! We had a look at one of their pizzas too. Wood oven baked and huge! The draft list is extensive as is the list of bottled beer. Both exotic imports and craft beers are available. This is a great place to get beer to go too.

Great atmosphere! The cheese sticks were overcooked-that was a bummer. I really enjoyed the calzone, although i made mine into a Stromboli (no ricotta) We also ordered a burger. It was big and juicy. My only complaint here is this: get sharper knives! I’m not just picking on this restaurant-we’ve gone to steakhouses and were given the same dull so called knife . Aren’t we all adults and can use sharp knives?! Why even spend money on the hunks of metal with handles pictured? End of rant . Anyway, this place is big and enjoyable! I was surprised that a plaza restaurant was this tasty I do love a good French fry and these were yummy!! Reminded me of a potato patch fry from kennywood, but better!

Im so dissappointed because my fiance and I eat here a few times a month and at first we agreed to do chinese however just had it a few nights ago and before I was able to tell my fiance nevermind about the chinese he had already called and placed our order but I said lets get gateway grill because due to covid we haven't had it in a couple months so he agreed and cancelled our chinese food. And as I said we have eaten here a lot in the past the food is ALWAYS GREAT AND NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES until tonight. I ordered wings and I wanted 6 cajun, and 6 garlic parm, and its a small charge to split flavors but only like a dollar but because I have never tried the garlic I figured I would try it so I said 6 because I love the cajun but and get cajun everytime however wanted to change it up and try something different. So we ordered to go and when we get home and we sit down to eat I noticed all my wings were in the same contaner all garlic parm and cajun together and even know they were not the way I ordered Im always down to try something different however they just weren't my kind of taste and I ALWAYS ALWAYS get ranch and we paid extra because I absolutely love the ranch and I dipped one of my wings in the ranch and I got a good bit on it and took a bite and instantly started gagging from the taste and I would say it was close to one of the worst things I have ever tasted and can not get the taste out of my mouth still and I smelled it and it smelled like sour ranch or something, not sure how to explain the smell but it was not the ranch I usually get. My son even tasted it and said it was sour tasting like it had sat out to long in the heat and I even said well maybe its blue cheese to my son because I had tried blue cheese once years ago and I just did not care for it as much as I did ranch and my son said that was not blue cheese and if it was blue cheese it was the worst tasting blue cheese he has had. Needless to say I wish I would have gotten chinese however I could not bring my food back to get it remade due to it was closed so Im hungry and irritated and I have my whole order sitting here because my fiance ordered a whole rack of ribs like he normally does however they gave him a half a rack and 15 fries and I ordered fries with my wings however did not receive them. Taken everything back tomorrow to get our money back because we paid 58.05 and never got to...

Stop in this afternoon for a late lunch. Sadly, we just missed the Breakfast menu (2 pm cut off). I wish that was an all-day thing. It looked amazing and I'm a breakfast for dinner kinda person.

We were greeted by a happy, and very nice person. Very polite staff. Seated us in the dining area.

Our drink order was taken quickly, and our waitress held her humor when I nearly attacked her asking if they had a Mike's Hard Peach and she said yes! :) She took our drink orders and brought us water very quickly, as well as my drink.

Our food was served very promptly, fresh and hot. Everything delish. Prices were great for the food we got.

I got the THE WORKS BURGER with Sautéed mushrooms, green peppers, onions, and American/Cheddar cheese. Was a truly amazing burger and I'm picky about my burgers. Soooooo, good! The peppers and onions were perfectly cooked. Perfect amount of cheese! The patty itself was still juicy and tender even though I asked for it well done! I

Our waitress was busy but she took the time for questions and they were answered quickly and politely. We were not rushed to order, nor were we rushed to finish our food. She made sure to stop a few times to see if we needed anything and kept out glasses full.

The only thing I'd say is that I did not realize it was a bar/restaurant. We thought "Grill" meant it was just a restaurant. It was that as well, to be clear. There is a beautiful seating area. Nice woodwork and lovely blue seating.

However, if you are going out to have a meeting or want a quiet conversation at your table, that's not likely to happen. The dining room was an echo/amplifying chamber. I couldn't hear anything my companion was saying, but I could hear every word of almost everyone else like they were talking into a megaphone. There weren't really enough folks there it to be as loud as it was. It was so loud, when it was not busy or had a rowdy bunch in there, I left with a headache.

So it's definitely not quiet there, but the food was so amazing if you can tune out that... you won't be...
