Hidden gem! Could benefit from more visible signage as well as some landscaping or exterior decor as it looks a little sketchy when you drive up. Its not in an unfavourable area at all, its just that the drab exterior gives the impression that this is an empty building if there are no cars in the lot at the time. This is the only negative I can really find with this hotel. I was greeted warmly upon arrival and the staff were spectacular during my entire two day visit. I interacted with both the daytime and night time staff members and they could not have been more pleasant and helpful. My room was on the 4th floor, a double room with full bath. It's an interesting decor, almost reminiscent of the 80s with the large round window in my room. Track lighting over the beds and other areas of the room added to its contemporary look. It's almos. The bathroom was good size with a modern look sink that was both tdecorative and utilitarian as it was the perfect size in which to wash my hair. The complimentary shampoo and conditioner were excellent but a little meager in size. The room could have used at least two of each toiletry. The in room coffee was surprisingly drinkable which I do not find very often in hotels these days. The building interior seems well maintained. The bed was about a six out of 10 on the comfortability scale. The mattresses are a bit hard but not the worst thing I've ever slept on. The light duvet is just the right thickness to be comfortable without being weighty. The air conditioner could have been more effective. I did not partake in the free breakfast but what I saw looked quite adequate. There is a terrific restaurant within walking distance right behind the hotel whixj was recommended by the front desk clerk. Mine was a very pleasant stay and I would recommend...
Read moreOne thing after another. Upon registration, the electronic keys were not working. The Front Desk's master key was not working either, so he had to use a physical key to open the door. Was told the maintenance guy would be back in the morning to fix it. We requested a new room, as we were not comfortable in a room where the keys didn't work. Was finally given a new room. There were no towels, so had to go back to the Front Desk to get some. around 11 pm, the doors open. A family of 3 was given our room! Went again to Front Desk to notify them to update their records to show the room was given to us. 10 minutes later another Front Desk rep came knocking to find out what happened. Told him they needed to communicate with each other. On the last night, coming back from the conference, the keys were not working again. The Front Desk rep blamed my iPad for erasing the keys. Not the case, since my friend's key did not work either, and he wasn't near my iPad. Got new keys and wanted to watch a soccer game. TV was not working. I tried to call the Front Desk, but there was no dial tone! Walked again to the Front Desk and they ask somebody to come over to fix the TV. Half hour+ later, I walk back to the Front Desk to let them know the person they assigned to come fix the TV never came. They told me he was already gone for the night and maintenance will be back in the morning!!! I finally told them this had been the worst hotel experience of my life and the worst customer service ever (in a calm, fact only tone). 10 minutes later, another employee came in to look at the TV. He claimed the guys who had recently replaced the carpet had nailed the TV wires. He was able to fix it and was the first person through this ordeal to offer an apology for all the inconveniences...
Read moreWe stayed for one week at this hotel.
PROS The hotel and the room were very clean. There was a grab bar on the wall outside of the bathtub and the tub itself was shallow, which made it easy to get in and out safely for showers. The water pressure was good. The WiFi was fast. The hotel was quiet. Breakfast offerings were decent, and the coffee wasn't bad.
CONS The beds were only full size rather than queen. They were too tall and difficult to sit on and get into, and they were NOT comfortable and left us with back pain.
The pull out loveseat was very uncomfortable even just to sit on. We planned on having our young adult daughter sleep in it, but it was far too uncomfortable, so we had to squeeze two people into one of the full size beds for an entire week. We asked the desk for an extra blanket several times throughout the week but were told each time that they had none left.
There is no a/c in the bathroom and the exhaust fan did not work. The toilet was too short and shallow. It was difficult to sit down and get up from, especially if you have knee or back trouble. And every time we used it we wound up hitting the water while trying to wipe because the bowl was so shallow. That was really disgusting, and frankly utterly ridiculous. Of all things you have to worry about during a hotel stay, the toilet definitely should NOT be one of them.
There were no dressers or chests of drawers to store our clothing in so we lived out of our bags for a week.
The armed desk chair was narrow and very uncomfortable, and because the loveseat was uncomfortable as well, we had no comfortable seating.
For those reasons I would not return to nor...
