A Salvadorian twist. This is my second visit to Dulce Cielo. I had to comeback. My first visit here was great. The owners are Salvadorian and they put their own Salvadorian twist to their recipes. On this visit I had their version of Cafe de olla and I asked for it iced of course. It was delicious. I paired it with one of the in house baked strawberry cupcakes. All their pastry offerings are baked in house. So to me that’s a huge plus. I haven’t had and of their warm food offerings yet. But I will soon. On my first visit I had the Dulce Cielo latte iced with oat milk with a piece of their carrot cake. The carrot wasn’t too sweet. Just sweet enough to know that I will be having it again. The Dulce Cielo latte was incredible. I wanted that latte to last me all day. The best way I can describe it is that it was silky smooth. It was so tasty. When you’re watching them make your beverage. You can tell they take a lot of care on what they are serving you. And after talking to Veronica the owner today. You can tell that serving a quality product is important to her. If you ever find yourself in Monrovia or any of their neighboring cities, you should definitely stop be Dulce Cielo. You won’t regret it. I can honestly say that I have found the best coffee in The San...
Read moreI really wanted to love this place. We live locally and have been anxiously awaiting the opening of this little shop for months. We love a little sweet treat now & again and had high hopes for a small business so close to home. However, this place lacked enthusiasm and charm. My husband stopped in to grab some treats for my birthday. The slice of lemon bundt cake they offered was oddly tiny and so dry yet oily. No distinct flavor or notable texture. Then the cupcakes...this is supposed to be their specialty I thought. We purchased 6 for a good variety, but sadly, they were all underwhelming at best. The cake was dry and firm, almost stale. However the icing was more bearable I guess. Sweet and creamy but not good enough to save the cake. I could be willing to give them another try, but the lack lustre customer service (seeing as they'd only been open for a few weeks) and the poor quality of the food, makes this a real miss for us. I wish them luck and hope things...
Read moreFor a small business,l just starting, they're on a great track!! Lattes are big and yummy and their cupcakes too. I'm excited to see how they may ramp up more as they establish themselves in the community. The woman working the front was very sweet. They're variety of cupcakes are yummy, some better than others, but isn't that most bakeries? Definitely came back for their chocolate ones a few times. Also it's a very cute shop out front. I know it took them awhile to make it in shop, but happy they're finally here! A great addition to the...
