I've actually tried this place when they were in a food court in West Covina. Glad to see now that they have their own standalone store.
Noodles Stars, as you all know, is an Indonesian Restaurant specializing in noodles (hence their name but they do that have delicacies as well). It sits on the side of a plaza that is shared with a variety of other businesses, and a market. Parking can be bad during peak hours because of how concentrated this plaza naturally is
The both times I've been here, there has been a common denominator. Their Me goreng. Before coming here, my only exposure to this dish was the instant ones. Although those are still good, I highly recommend trying the authentic dish, and if you're lucky to be around Noddle Stars, to try it here. It is significantly better and the dish I always look forward to ordering when coming here. I have also tried their Chicken Satay which is delicious as well. It came with some rice cakes and a very unique Shrimp Paste sauce.
Overall, I love this place. I will definitely come back here time and time again for some great...
Read moreDelicious noodles! Special star's noodles had a nice texture and savory flavor with chicken, mushrooms, slightly sweet bbq sliced pork, some greens and a small side of soup; simple and tasty! The Fried Noodle (Mie Goreng) also had a great noodle texture with a sweet leaning sauce, fried with eggs, chunks of beef balls, chicken and veggies. We also got some chili sauce and pickled sliced chilies on the side for some extra yummy spiciness!
The star of the show was the fried stuffed tofu (batagor)! Each tofu piece was topped with ground meat (pork or chicken I think) and then the whole thing was battered and fried for a delightful crisp. Came with a peanut sauce, a sweetened soy sauce and a garlicky sauce for dipping, plus a fried wonton "plate" at the very bottom carrying the fried tofu. They also purposely left this takeout box open inside the bag it came in so that each piece would stay crispy for as long as possible (and they actually did stay crispy), which is...
Read moreI’ve only written two reviews ever, but I feel compelled to write this one, unfortunately for bad reasons. I just ordered chicken satay and fried flat rice noodles. And the first thing that irked me is Noodle Stars has pictures of their menu on this Google Maps listing with prices that are 40% below their actual current prices, which is misleading. But I thought eh I’ll give it a shot, must be good. The chicken satay was raw. I even checked several pieces and in the end threw it out. On top of that I could tell from looking at it that the chicken quality was terrible. And the fried noodle dish with beef had some of the worst quality beef I’ve ever seen. On top of that the dish itself was waay over seasoned - like nobody had tasted it before it went out the door. I’m a bit beside myself at the moment. $28 for that. Personally I hope they see this review and make improvements for other customers...
