Baja Cali Fish & Tacos (Monrovia) — Restaurant in Monrovia

I must mention that the staff was working damn hard, so this falls on poor management. They are not equipped to handle the volume of orders. My first time here. So I don't know if this is common but it seemed like the employees were not surprised, just trying to fill orders as fast as possible. Mistakes happen when rushing, which took more time.

They need double the staff and a bigger work area. Only one person taking orders is not enough, although they should've stopped taking orders at some point until they got caught up. Small narrow area to finish orders, and when the young man finally got help they were bumping elbows. One lady took a while to move all the tickets to the right and another came after her and moved them all to the left. They need a better ticket system. I ordered at 6:26, and received my order at 7:05, just 10 tacos. There were many of us, at least 10 at any given time, waiting for orders, plus the online orders and more people in line to order. I almost left. The fish tacos are very tasty, good-sized and fresh. I could've used some spice but I just wanted to leave so I didn't ask...

Been here twice, been to the ones in West Covina and the Arcadia mall and both are infinitely better. The food is fine to be honest but the service is AWFUL. It was not busy and the person in front of me who had ordered with someone and paid for it didn’t get their order put in at all then another server comes up and completely had to retake the order even though the customer had her receipt. Then I ordered and watched as the 3 people who ordered behind me AND the one before me all get their orders before me. When I went to ask about my order which was only 2 fish tacos and shrimp cocktail they ignored me for another 5 minutes while I was trying to get my money back for waiting near 30 minutes. I had the number five combo a a medium shrimp cocktail and a ceviche tostada with a the dr. Pepper this soda was the best thing out of that combo I have the same combo somewhere else it takes a lot better, I don't think I'll order that again. I wanted beef taquitos they only have chicken and potato but they wanted $8 for 4 taquitos I thought that was expensive. I ordered 2 street tacos I stood in front of the cook as he make them and ask not to add on anyting else too and he said yes and as I turned around he added the toppings.
