The Saltner Wine & Cicchetti — Restaurant in Monrovia

I have been coming here for about 3 years and never had a problem. I have brought about 12 people to this establishment too. I consider myself a pretty good customer. I even wrote a song for Julie and the wine bar. How I get treated is the last time I go in Julie tells me that she was told that I was banging my hand on the bar and yelling and screaming like some kind of lunitic when there was a band playing there the week before or so. She said I terrified all of her staff. I told her this is absolutley not true and that the drummer and the singer/sax guy and I were all talking after their set and everything was great. She said she has it all on camera and I asked to see it and prove it and she would not show me. She just yelled at me and talked very mean to me and told me to never come back. Just like that. Oh my gosh what an absolute gem this place is. The service was quick, knowledgeable and friendly, the vibes are welcoming and cozy with a slightly elevated feel. I swear you feel like you're at home when you're here. Julie, the owner takes time to talk with her guests make them feel special. This restaurant has an excellent wine menu, with many things that are not listed so I recommend telling the staff what you like and letting them pick a flight for you. The FOOD is out of this world splendid. Everything is made from scratch and made to order and absolutely DELICIOUS. I swear I was raving about the food all night. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. Perfect for a cozy date night, or getting wine with the girls. My wife and I got 2 plates, 2 flights, 2 full glasses of wine, and 2 glasses of vermouth...

Unfortunately, the experience was going incredibly well to tell the truth. However, the waitress/owner of the establishment “Julie” was very clearly drunk, and overcharged for our items. Now normally this would be no issue, however after explaining that we had an extra item added to our receipt, she went on a very loud yelling rant about how we are trash and couldn’t remember what we ordered. This of course embarrassed my group in front of the rest of the establishment, and we were promptly kicked out. I don’t normally call for this sort of action, but to be honest, she made my friend cry because of her lack of professionalism. If Julie cannot remain professional during her shifts or at the very least remain sober, then she should not work...
