We had an extremely disappointing and concerning experience at Five55. Upon entering, the ambiance seemed inviting, but our excitement quickly turned to disgust and horror.
My friend and I ordered what seemed like promising dishes--the Short Rib Quesadillas and Smash Burger. However, our anticipation was shattered when we discovered several hairs entangled within the Short Ribs Quesadillas. Even worse, upon biting into the seemingly appetizing Smash Burger, we were met with the unmistakable taste of raw meat, resulting in severe food poisoning. Adding to the nightmare, Five55's hygiene was appalling, with roaches scurrying across our table.
When we voiced our legitimate concerns to our server, her response was shockingly dismissive and disrespectful. Instead of addressing our distress, she responded with an immature and insensitive attitude, laughing off our complaints and leaving us feeling belittled and disregarded.
In an attempt to escalate the issue, we sought the manager. Unfortunately, his response was equally disheartening. He callously brushed aside our grievances, displaying a complete lack of empathy or accountability, and defended their questionable practices.
Shockingly, when we informed them of our intention to write a review about our experience, both the server and manager callously laughed at us and replied that they didn't care. Throughout our entire dining experience, the manager and server openly laughed and mocked us for expressing our grievances.
THEY TREAT CUSTOMERS AS JOKES.
In summary, the combination of unhygienic conditions, contaminated food leading to illness, horrifyingly bad customer service from both the server and manager make abundantly clear that Five55 is unfit for patronage. Save yourself the anguish and avoid this place at all costs. There are far better options where you can dine in a clean environment, enjoy safe food, and receive...

Staying at the Courtyard by Marriott Monterey Park, I pondered a refreshing cocktail sounded like it'd hit the spot. Five55 is the Courtyard's resident upscale sports bar & restaurant, and being within Five55's Happy Hour time slot, I made my way over for a tipple.
Iwai Japanese whiskey old fashioned- Cold & refreshing. Just what I was looking for. I'm a newcomer to Japanese whiskey, and I quite enjoyed the flavor. It was bit of a bummer Five55's old fashioned didn't come garnished with a cherry. That last bite of cherry to end an old fashioned is literally "the cherry on top".
Five55 smashburger- Initially set on strictly a cocktail, watching the TNF Raiders/Rams game made me want to stay a little longer & order a burger. I ordered Five55's signature smashburger lettuce-wrapped. It was quite good! The caramelized onion, house spread & pickles made the flavors pop with each bite. The smashburger comes with fries, but I had a Caesar side salad subbed in it's place. Great idea! Enough for a small meal, the salad was crisp & fresh, and I didn't weigh myself down with carbs.
Service was okay. It seemed to take longer than it should have for my drink, food, the bill & receipt, considering the amount of customers at the time. Parking is validated for customers.
Five55 is a solid Happy Hour food & drink option in Monterey Park. Their smashburger & old fashioned satisfied. Minor adjustments, such as adding a cherry to their Japanese Iwai whiskey old fashioned & improving wait time for orders/bill, would greatly enhance the...

During our stay at the hotel, we stopped in for some late night appetizers and drinks. This is advertised as a bar and restaurant, and we sat over by the bar. The night we came, there was a large event with really loud kids. I didn’t mind at all but was just surprised to see kids near the bar.
We ordered Garlic Parmesan Truffle Fries and Short Rib Quesadillas. The quesadillas looked dry but I was surprised they tasted really good. The meat was actually juicy. It was served with small sides of guacamole and pico de gallo. Wish it came with a side of sour cream but it was fine as is.
Our server was really cool and checked up on us often to make sure our needs were met.
Overall, really satisfied with the convenience of having this bar stay open late hours without having to...
