GW Supermarket — Local services in Monterey Park

I always buy groceries here, but I was very unhappy today. When I entered the supermarket, I took a small cart with a basket. When I checked out, the cashier was very nice. I bought a lot of goods, so she gave me a big cart. There were two Mexicans chatting next to the cashier. They were talking and laughing from the time I checked out to the end of the checkout. After I finished checking out, because I used a big cart, the Mexican man next to me asked me to push the two carts I used together. Because I bought too many things, a big cart can only be pushed with two hands. I asked, "Can you help me?" He said no, I have to put it away. I pushed the cart from the cashier to the entrance and ran twice. The Mexican lady looked very proud. For me, this will always be the original 順發超級市場 (Shun Fat Supermarket). Sad they no longer hold this location. Anyhow... Wow. They actually had enough cash registrars open! Can't say that about other grocery stores. This place is a bit pricier than some other supermarkets in the area, but still not expensive enough that I won't hit it up. From the outside it looks like they're closed for business, because some windows are boarded up (or have giant wooden shelves covering up the windows to give that affect), the windows are so heavily tinted it's hard to tell if the lights are actually on,, and one of their old doors have the cage closed on it. 然而，在我取袋子时，一位女性员工开始盯着我看，目光持续而不友善。这名员工大约5英尺1英寸高（155cm），短发，发色为棕色和银色，戴着帽子和口罩，大约50到60多岁的样子。她随后用粤语开始自言自语，明显是在评论我的行为，距离大概两米，周围并无其他顾客，明显就是针对我讲的。我没有理她，继续挑选橘子，她却一直念叨到我挑完。

我离开后，她还一直看我。我瞪了她一眼后，她才把头转开不敢再看。我之后听到她与其他人说话用的是普通话，所以她能说粤语和普通话。

她这种阴阳怪气、冷嘲热讽的行为，让我感到非常被冒犯、羞辱与骚扰。在公共场合对顾客冷嘲热讽，是极其不专业的表现。

作为顾客，我理应受到尊重与良好服务。恳请贵方认真调查此事，查明员工身份并采取相应的处分措施，确保这种令人反感的行为不再发生。

On July 24, 2025, at approximately 11:25 AM, I was in the produce section selecting fruits. I took about 5 to 6 plastic bags at once, so that I wouldn’t have to keep grabbing new bags while shopping. This is simply a personal habit I’ve developed when shopping in supermarkets.

However, as I was taking the bags, a female employee began to stare at me in an unfriendly and persistent manner. She was approximately 5 feet 1 inch tall (155 cm), had short hair with a mix of brown and silver, was wearing a hat and a face mask, and appeared to be around 50 to 60 years old.

She then started soliloquize in Cantonese, clearly referring to my actions. She was standing about two meters away, and there were no other customers nearby — it was obvious her remarks were directed at me. I ignored her and continued selecting tangerines, but she kept talking the entire time until I was done.

Even after I walked away, I noticed she continued to stare at me. I turned back and stared at her in return, and only then did she look away. Later on, I heard her speaking Mandarin with others, which indicates that she is fluent in both Cantonese and Mandarin.

Her behavior — full of passive aggression, sarcasm, and public shaming — made me feel extremely offended, humiliated, and harassed. It is completely unprofessional to mock customers in a public setting like this.
