Phoenix Food Boutique — Restaurant in Monterey Park

My wife loves their black sesame dessert and so we drove here from Orange County. The parking lot is tiny, difficult to park in, and dimly lit. The store is also dimly lit and the laminated menus are tattered. It was $16 for a family size of the black sesame dessert (no price listed on the menu) and $6 for 3 cubes of mango pudding. The credit card machine only has Chinese text and I was not sure how to reject a tip for takeout (it is on the lower right hand of the screen). The workers there were not friendly (maybe because I didn't tip another $5 in addition to the $24 they charged us for two items). I requested an extra paper cup so that we could share the family-sized dessert and they did not want to give me a paper cup. They said they did not have one even though I could clearly see a huge stack of paper cups. It was very bizarre. Got a delicious mango type of drink from them which was awesome, but it was downhill from there. Ordered my food and the customer service was 1/10 because they threw my receipt back at me demanding a tip, I tipped and my food came which was bland fried rice and very stale , old, most likely refried chicken. The only thing worth a star was my drink which was awesome, but customer service was rude, and I reviewed better patronage from the DMV. Not worth spending money on food, get their drinks ONLY!!! Walked in at 9:20pm and the staff lady told us they closed and no longer take orders…??? The store hours read 9:30, then mark your hour to 9:20 or even earlier pls?! We drove from the Bay Area and it was the last stop of the LA trip. Tho in the end she agreed to take orders( I think it was because several other customers came in after us.
