Five Loaves — Restaurant in Monticello

If I lived in Monticello, I'd eat at Five Loaves at the least once a week. The menu is diverse. The service is friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is comfortable and a little quirky. All and all we had a great experience. I had the Asian Chicken Wrap which was spot on perfect. The added roasted peanuts rounded out the tasty flavor profile. My "Partner in Crime" had the Ruben which was prepared as a Panini. The corned beef was tender, and the finish on the bread gave the sandwich a nice light crunch. This was first time in Monticello, GA. Went to funeral. Looked for restaurant on the square. Chose Five Loaves. Just had a salad but it was the worst one I have ever had. Don't know what kind of greens in it but it was not like any lettuce I had ever seen. Could not eat it. The Asian dressing and oranges were good. Amazing sandwich shop. Great food and service. The only critique I have is that I assumed the Monte Cristo would be more sweet than savory. It's done as a dry pressed sandwich, instead of a French toast style. The ingredients are fresh and delicious, and price is just right for the high level of quality. Definitely check them out.
