I came to LA Eskina with a dear friend of mine, just to get some chips, salsa, cheese dip and a couple coronas. To say that the food was horrible is an understatement. The chips were stale, others somewhat fresh mixed together to make them go further I assume. The salsa was HORRIBLE, had way too many seasoning going on,the cheese dip we got with jalapeños was way too thick, and had huge HUGE chunks of jalapeños, making it far less than enjoyable. The best part about this meal was enjoying the atmosphere outside sitting on the square, chatting with an old pal. When I went to stand up, there was something sharp on the chair that gave me a pretty thick cut, so deep I didn't stop bleeding for 20 minutes. When I went inside to ask an employee if they had any bandaids she said no, we don't have any, in a real smart ass manner. I then said really, your chair just cut me pretty bad and im bleeding pretty significantly, she said really, we don't have any. Wow. I am appalled that they could be so careless. What if a child had gotten cut on this chair? It is one thing to have bad food, but to have terrible service where I spend my hard earned money has...

We apparently were the first customers for the day. They had to run to store for an ingredient. We ordered cheese dip and home style guacamole. It took over 20 mins to get appetizers. We asked for fresh chopped jalapenos on side to add, we received sliced pickled jalapenos. Extremely slow. Then placed 3 enter orders, taco beef salad, 3 street tacos with cilantro and onion, next was 3 barboca( spelled wrong) tacos. That's it. It took over 40 mins to finally get our entree. ☠️😳👀 Employees are extremely wonderful, pleasant and nice. It is family run, however Mamacita needs to put her foot down and hold the employees accountable. This would have been a five for an experience, however the lack of organization was not there at all. Restaurant is extremely clean and decor was a bonus. Thick chipped nachos were delicious as well as excellent homemade salsa and the home style. Avocado dip was fantastic. For me to give a honest answer on the taste of the actual entrees would not be fair since all three of us were full from chips and dip because we waited for our food for so long. We were full by the time...

passing through town, was recommended the shrimp burrito by the lady at the General store. so, we went there - cute place, love the decor and chairs. It took 10 minutes to get any server attention, 5 minutes to get chips, then another 5 minutes to get a menu etc. the salsa was quite good actually, and the speed of the food was very fast. however, the burrito was kind of soggy, a bit odd on the flavor and texture. my kid's fries and chicken tenders were pretty gross and flavorless. i had a clumped bit of the crinkle fries and it tasted like it was freezer burnt, but worse. could not make out exactly what it was, but i had to spit that out. the lemonade had an off taste like it was made with tap water. the service was sporadic and inattentive, we had to go ask for the check and was generally ignored...

If you're passing through Monticello, make sure to stop by this amazing Mexican restaurant! The torta was absolutely delicious, packed with flavor and perfectly balanced. The salsa was a standout, with a great depth of taste that really enhanced the meal. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating such a positive vibe that made the experience even better. Don’t leave without trying the birria fries. They are a must have! This spot is definitely worth a visit for anyone craving authentic, flavorful Mexican food.

Lunch time on a weekend. Plenty of tables available for immediate sitting. Chips and a small bowl of salsa came out quickly. The Chicken street tacos were tasty. The chicken was diced small but the corn taco tortillas fell apart and were more difficult to eat than other restaurants I've been to. They didn't come with beans or rice like most Mexican places have with their street tacos. Overall it was a good experience. The decor inside was fun to see while eating too.
