Dairy Queen (Treat Only) — Restaurant in Montvale

Everyone knows, For many years, this location has been “off the DQ grid “ except for “DQ” name. OK, They only take CASH.not a big deal but, Do not accept “gift cards “ even though from DQ? When asked , answered was “we do not have any swipe or CC machines”, ok. As for the quality, very disappointing. Ordered a medium, “vanilla with Oreo” Blizzard. This, four years was the quintessential DQ product and normally loaded with the “stuff”(Reeses, Oreos, chocolate, chips, etc.)that they were known for! That made a blizzard, a blizzard and distinct from anyone else’s products! since this is there “signature” Dish and are known for, but now, just vanilla ice cream w/ barely any Oreo pieces. could have ordered a medium Vanilla ice cream cup and saved the additional five dollars of the 8 dollars they now charge. Have been a regular customer for nearly 25 years but will now be going to the park ridge and Emerson locations. Hopefully they have a higher quality standard for what should be simple and easy…. Visited this dairy queen last night with some friends they close at 11 we arrived at 10:45, at first we arrived as a group of 3 and informed the worker we had a few other people arriving a minute or two before they close. They still had some people ordering so we assumed it wasn’t an issue but the worker very rudely informed us they would not bother to stay open for them. we decided to order the ice creams for the others since they would take longer, workers got annoyed at us for ordering more ice creams even though they were open and even turned off the lights in front of us while we were still ordering. Staff was very rushed to leave, so rushed they messed up most of our orders ran out of vanilla and even forgot to make one of our orders even though we were charged for it. Overall we were very disappointed with the service of the workers and how we were treated. Also Everyone in our party got very sick directly after eating...

I've worked here for 21 years. Managing this landmark for 8 years.. the owners are beautiful people inside and out. My life is pretty much made of stories from this place. And the owner has stood by me through my good times and bad. Anyways the reason for me writing this is to let everyone know ... we don't cut corners. Period. Every night the machines are emptied sanitized and left for me to put together and sanitize again to ensure the best quality product. Every topping is cleaned and sanitized even if it's not empty. The owner is not here for the size of his wallet he is here for the size of your smile. I wasn't asked to post this but I wanted to express how great this place is and the wonderful people we employ.. unfotunalty I will only have a few more years left here before I move on, until then i will try my best to ensure you come back and bring your kids and eventually they well bring theres..
