My wife and I were excited to try out the new breakfast spot in town. We were greeted and told to seat ourselves as soon as we walked in. It was pretty busy when we arrived, so it wasn't a big deal that a high chair was not offered to us for our 2 year old daughter. I spotted some on the other side of the restaurant and just grabbed one for ourselves. The owner was also our waitress. She did a great job taking our drink order, taking our food order, refilling coffees and checking on us, all while helping other customers, answering the phone and taking to go orders. She even brought over some crayons and paper for our daughter. I was surprised that there were no sugar free sweeteners available at the table however, I did hear a customer ask for spenda and she was given some. I liked the menu. It was large enough that there is definitely something for everyone, but small enough to not be overwhelmed. I wouldn't say there were any items that really stuck out or were very creative. The most out of the ordinary thing I saw was a Philly cheese steak breakfast sandwich. Other than that it was a pretty basic menu. I know they are just starting out, but it would be nice to have some specials available in the future. I ordered the large breakfast combo. I don't remember the name, but it had something to do with the number 3. 3 eggs, 3 sausage links, 3 peices of bacon, 1 peice of French toast. It also came with regular toast and home fries. Everything was good. I really liked the homefries after I added a little salt. I liked that they had hot sauce right at the table. However, my sausage links were barely warm, but the eggs were nice and hot. My wife ordered the biscuits and gravy. I tried a bite or two. They weren't bad, but I wouldn't say they were anything special. We ordered a Belgian waffle with blueberries for my daughter. I didn't try it, but it looked pretty good. The place was very clean and decorated very patrioticly. I didn't check the bathroom, but based off the rest of the restaurant, I have confidence it was clean as well. It did seem like they could use more seats as there were people borrowing chairs from other tables quite often. I did hear the owner tell someone that they will be getting some booths soon. The prices were fair and what one might expect. We enjoyed our time and will definitely be returning. For being brand new they did great.. I do hope the menu grows a little and maybe some out of the box specials are offered. They should also start taking names or have some sort of system for keeping track of who is next to be seated. People outside waiting to get in seemed a little confused what to do. There should so be a sign to seat yourself. Just my 2 cents. Hope...
Read moreThis is a rare time where I actually looked forward to making a review. After doing a "Breakfast" search on Google I came upon this place. After looking at the photos of the food, that was enough for me. I decided that I would give it a try. My wife and I arrived there about 10:45 am and we're immediately welcomed by very friendly staff. The place looked and felt welcoming right out of the gate. With the American colors of red and blue I was impressed immediately. The sever greeted us instantly and offered us both coffee. Shortly after we ordered our meals. She had a breakfast sandwich and I had Bacon, eggs, home fries, and English. I'm 59 years old and have had many breakfasts throughout this county. I have to say this was the very best breakfast I've ever had! If I had one better, I don't have memory of it. The bacon was crispy, the eggs were perfectly cooked over medium, and the home fries were out of this world! The English were cooked to perfection. Nothing like getting English muffins that are barely cooked and almost raw, yuk! EVERYTHING was perfect, which is nearly impossible. The staff were all awesome on top of the great food. This is twice as far as my regular spot in N Stonington, however, it WILL be my new spot now!!!! Cant's say enough about how wonderful the entire experience was, right down to asking me if I was a first responder, veteran, or rode a motorcycle. It's worth noting that Fox News was on both TVs, which explains the energy in there. Not a miserable...
Read moreMy wife and I always like to support local businesses, but our experience at Diana's was very unusual at best. When entering my wife entered first, we were hit with many stares. It was uncomfortable feeling being stared at. the establishment was very patriotic. And there's nothing wrong with that except the it's way over the topplus all the stares didn't help matters our waitress seemed suprised to see a couple like ours and couldn't stop staring. The food was not the best and the motif of the establishment was so red white and blue that even the most patriotic might seem like it's a little uncomfortable comfortable I would suggest that you try to make all of your patrons who are all Americans feel a little bit more comfortable blaring Tucker Carlson on the television and getting stared at as soon as you come in does not make a biracial couple feel very comfortable. Again I have no problem with 1st responders or any of our armed service men and women who have served but I do have a problem when you go into an establishment that is local and it's made you feel like it was 1950 again and you did not...
