We were in Birmingham visiting family and decided to eat Logan’s, we enjoy eating there in our hometown of Jacksonville, FL. Our family was a bit discouraged about it due to multiple negative experiences at this location. We managed to talk them in to it. There were 12 of us. Immediately upon entering the door, there were multiple employees just gathered around the barrels at the talking. They had to finish their conversations before greeting us. Didn’t appear real pleased to be there. Our family members gave us that look of “I told you so”. We were sat in Shannon’s section. She was cleaning a table next to us. Promptly greeted with a smile. “Hi, welcome to Logan’s I’m Shannon. I’ll be taking care of you this evening. I know you are just getting settled but may I go ahead and get you some drinks?” She returned promptly with our drinks. She offered appetizers and suggested a few. She was very knowledgeable of menu items. We had a member with a severe shellfish allergy. Shannon said she wanted to discuss how some things were prepared with the kitchen staff to provide us with definite information instead of assuming and being incorrect. And she did just that. We ordered our meals and received them within an except-able timeframe. I felt someone walk up to us as were blessing our food and when I peeked, she was bowing her head as well. LOVED THAT! She refilled our drinks and returned shortly after to ask how everything tasted. Throughout our visit our used dishes were removed by her promptly our drinks were quickly topped off. She was very attentive to our needs. I noticed her cleaning off tables, wiping them, placing silverware but could notice the cluster of employees at the front. So I asked her if they were required to do all of that themselves, I’ve never waited tables but it seemed like a lot. We eat out often and there’s usually multiple people performing different tasks. She replied “we are a team and I have down time and I just can’t stand dirty dishes”. Our meals were delicious! And the portions were just right. Fast forward to payout, on the back of my card I have “See ID”. She actually asked! No one ever does that even though it’s written on my card. Again, just shows how attentive she was. And she pointed out that her last name was Smith and a relative of hers was a Grant. We really enjoyed this experience and our relatives that live close by said they would be back but only on the days Shannon is there. She deserves a pat on the back for her wonderful skills, customer, and treating us as if she’s known us her whole life.
I rated 5 stars because of the service we received, however the first impression as we walked in definitely needs improvement. Thank you...
Read moreNope I worked here 4 day's over worked under paid hired as hostess instead was a server assistant which is actually anywhere else in restaurant industry a bus person but expected to hosts, bus , clean bathrooms ( which is not part of busser Job nor hostess job and the following also expected, dust ceiling fans,TV's, wipe down menu's, prepare child menu's sweep, wipe Down windows in entry) that's actually different positions in normal situations in restaurant business ) for $4.13yes you read that right $4.13 per hr I come from west coast Las Vegas and California where that would be laughable no wonder they can't keep staff it's a hot mess and a busser is also tipped out at the end of a shift at least they're supposed to be by Each waitress/server they buss for 15-20% of what the server makes in tips for the night by each server he/she's busses just like a server does by there customers because they're helping that server make money but nope not here they're rules at Logan's 3% of all servers tips combined added to your check every two weeks laughable I tell you insane actually what world do these people live in) maybe they should visit the west coast and see how a restaurant is ran and how to compensate and keep employees I haven't made $4.513an hour since I was 17 yrs old in 1981 the is sub par at best I notice most food was left on the plates of the tables i bussed that tells you alot right there in its self on top of everything else needless to say today i was a no call no show , but it's up to you if you want to try it out or not I'm just saying way below sub par especially compared to the 5 star restaurants of the Las Vegas strip I've worked at it's not like I'm new to the industry to say I was mind blown by everything about this place is a understatement!!!! It's literally slave labor your supporting and 1960s pay scale !!!!!! Even fast food employees at places like McDonald's and Wendy's and Carl's Jr ( AKA Hardee's) pay $20 hr on the West Coast and your not expected to do 4 different jobs for that either they couldn't get away with that on West Coast but then again this place has huge turnover as far as keeping employees I see why OMG doesn't Alabama have a labor board OMG y'all and the kitchen well that's a whole nother conversation I'm not sure you wanna know about just saying updated review for 28hrs they paid me 102.73 supposedly I was supposed to be paid today Oct 20 2023 five pm still nothing in my Chase account and the supposed 3% of server's tips I was supposed to get didn't get those either I'm so calling the labor department board...
Read moreWe arrived on a Very slow Monday night while traveling. It took us 10 minutes to get seated. Another 5 minutes for the waiter to come by. The young fella seemed displeased we were there with his curt mannerism and understated tone. There were 2 guests at our table and it appeared the waiter had only 2 other 2 top tables. He never asked if we wanted appetizers, spoke about specials, asked if we wanted anything from the bar, questions about the menu, etc. We ordered our food. 2 Steaks, 2 sides each, a tea, a water. Both Steaks were overcooked. My okra was well overcooked and mostly unedible. He never checked back on us as he walked past our table 4 times. The 5th time we asked for rolls again, which we weren't offered prior, and we asked for refills. Our salad plates remained at our table the entire time. We asked a total of 3 times for refills and rolls. He came back some time later and asked if it was ranch we needed? We finished our meals, we never received a single beverage refill and he finally attempted to bring us rolls, but it was after we had already finished our meal, near the same time he brought our bill. What happened to managers or leadership being integrated into the service process? Not once did we see anyone other than the busser and an additional waitress. Restaurants we frequent usually have staff that comes by just to see how things are! Oh, and the icing.....the pen he handed us leaked ink as we attempted to use it! Ink got on our hands and the table. Steer clear of this restaurant until they can get a decent leader to right the ship!!! "There are no bad teams, only...
