Panera Bread — Restaurant in Moon Township

This Panera is very inconsistent depending on the staff. In particular, the drive through staff around 1:45pm on October 11...The drive through person was rude and completely ignorant of her own job. She took my payment then proceeded to vanish. I'd see her occasionally chatting with coworkers and hear her in other parts of the business. The front end manager walked by a few times, but seemed pretty tuned out and focused on what he was doing. He didn't even look at the drive through.

Initially, I thought it was a kitchen issue, but then I saw my order...just sitting there...lonesome...on the counter for at least 5-7 minutes before one of the cooks popped out of the kitchen and asked what was going on. He took care of everything and was wonderful.

I went in to complain to the manager and thought "Well maybe they're busy inside. If they are, I'll leave". Nope. Only about 12 people in there, all eating. Meanwhile, front end management was nowhere to be found nor was there a cashier available to get the manager. I spoke with another woman outdoors who I initially passed up, because she was on lunch. She was very kind, but she was no part of the issue and I didn't want to ruin her break.

Everyone is entitled to have a good time at work so long as you do your job. I worked drive through at a DQ for two years and I get it - it isn't great. Regardless, you're a part of a team who needs you in order to function smoothly and in the grand scheme of life, the job is not that difficult.

UPDATE: Jan2024 - SUPER DISAPPOINTING. I ordered ahead on the app: chicken sand & soup, 6x bagels, country sourdough.

-soup / sand was ok -the sourdough was unusually DRY, and MISSING THE ENDS of the loaf. Did you try to sneak the more moist parts of 2 loafs, omiting the likely more-dry heals? -the bagels, all of them except 1 (cinnamon) were ROCK HARD, like, knock on the counter, HARD. The blueberry bagel was a JOKE, about 1in diameter, with at least a 2in hole in the middle like it forgot to rise?... I couldnt even cut into it, it was SO HARD. Looked like a hard pretzel without a twist. The cinnamon sugar bagel, which I ate, was unusually tough - I had no idea it would be the best of the bunch.

I threw 4.5 bagels out - tried to convince myself they were edible, warmed and drenched in butter. I couldnt to it, the effort to bite in then chew!?

Sadly, THIS Panera was my go-to for sourdough. It's a sad state to go to a chain store for decent bread - I thought I came to terms with that, convince there would be quality control - guess not. I would never have served that to house guests. It was so dry.

Mixed emotions. Panera has good sourdough bread, but why, in this city of beautiful cultural diversity, am I finding myself at Panera for a decent loaf of bread?

I got it sliced thick, and enjoyed every minute. Ive gotta learn how to order ahead, and not wait 10min to...

I always go to this Panera. They’re normally pretty good with everything I ordered. Today I ordered breakfast sandwich and Greek salad. I noticed that one of the guy that was in the kitchen today normally work in the register. I was a little concerned but since he’s a familiar face I trusted the order. I got to work and the breakfast sandwich was perfect. I didn’t bother checking the salad since the sandwich turned out perfect. Lunch time comes I’m at work and I open the salad the dressing looked pretty cleared so I thought hmmm….maybe they changed the dressing so I poured it in and mixed the salad and I took a bite and boy was I surprised! The dressing tasted like sesame oil with sugar. I was so hungry so I thought maybe I’ll take another bite because the salad still looks good but the dressing pretty much ruined it for me I couldn’t take another bite, I was frustrated, I was sad seeing a great looking salad go to waste as I drop it in the garbage. I shouldn’t have to check my order before leaving the restaurant. I’m not sure if I go back there again. They should check twice before putting...
