We have been going to this restaurant for years. It is one of our favorite places to go. We frequently bring our entire family to this restaurant and have had crowds up to 20+ people. The food is very consistent, but not the best I’ve ever had. Just pretty good.
NOTE: These people will kick you out of their restaurant after you finish eating !!!
Over the years, there have been two occasions where I have met a friend to catch up. We all know this can take some time.
The first time it was an OU professor that I was trying to meet with, and we got asked to leave our table after eating so we had to sit in his vehicle and finish our conversation. Super Awkward.
Today I met with a friend who had I have not seen in a while and we were in a small booth from 8 AM to about 9:45 including ordering and waiting for our food and eating time. My friend had never been to Sunnyside up before. My visit with my friend was cut short because these people have no sense of value for their current customers. The restaurant was not even nearly full, and there was nobody waiting in line for a seat!
I tip very well and especially if I have been at the table for a while. I think that is a courteous thing to do. ($20+ tips)
I understand restaurants want to keep turning tables and make more money, but I also understand I’m only occupying one spot on this entire planet at any given moment and at the time I was at their establishment paying them $35 before tip for breakfast and they made me leave my table early. AGAIN! My friend and I had to stand in the parking lot in the cold and finish our conversation.
The staffs’ greed and willingness to be rude will now cost them literally thousands of dollars in future repeat business.
I have now had enough and will never go back to Sunnyside up again and I suggest you don’t either. Will be going to Neighborhood Jam...
Read moreWe have been coming to Sunny Side Up for a few years now, my children and I go once a week before school and work. It's become a cherished tradition that we all look forward to. The cozy atmosphere always feels welcoming. The staff knows us by name, greeting us with warm smiles and friendly waves as we walk through the door. Our favorite waitress is Tammy; she remembers our order perfectly. Her attention to detail and genuine care make every visit feel special. Tammy often stops by our table to chat, asking about our week and sharing stories of her own. Her warmth and kindness are a big part of why we adore coming here. It's these small gestures that turn an ordinary breakfast into an extraordinary experience, leaving us with hearts full of gratitude and smiles that last long after we've left the diner. Lynn takes great pride in ensuring that every guest has a wonderful experience.
These mornings at Sunny Side Up aren't just about the delicious food; they're about creating lasting memories and strengthening our family bond. Whether it's a simple smile shared over a cup of coffee or a story that makes us all laugh until our sides ache, these moments are precious. They remind us of the importance of taking time to enjoy each other's company and the little joys in life.

Read moreWhat an absolute joke. Went in to grab breakfast, and waited a while to even be acknowledged despite there being no wait at the door. Once I was seated, I waited another 5-10 minutes to be asked if I wanted to order, despite not being given any menu to go over.
Once I’d gotten a menu and I’d chosen an item and my server came back, I placed an order, only to be told that NO substitutions were allowed, that if I wanted a different item, I could order that item (which was cheaper as a side than the item the meal came with) and pay extra for them and just...not eat the side I didn’t want. Frustrated, I told them that if that was how it was, I would be happy to just pay for the coffee I’d taken a sip from and leave. The server went to tell the owner/manager, and came back with little more than a shrug and “Those are the rules.”
I have no idea HOW these folks have the star rating that they do, since it’s pretty clear that everything is “our way or the highway.” Save yourself the headache and turn in at the Waffle House just up the road instead; at least they’ll serve things the way...
