Nosh Restaurant & Catering Creations: Weird Location, Great Food
You have probably driven by Nosh dozens of times and didn’t know it was there – it’s located on a hill, off an S-curve and dip in the road. But once you sample Kim Torres’ delicious fare, you’ll never forget where it is tucked back into 19th Street in Moore.
The Nosh Restaurant comfortably seats 100, with another 36 in the glassed-in private dining area. You can request to sit by the cheery fireplace or closer to the bar area if that is more your style. Vintage settees, antiques, crystal chandeliers, and greenery surround the restaurant, providing a very restful, relaxing, yet fancy atmosphere.
The day we visited for lunch, we opted for a pot of peach mango hot tea – you can also get it iced. The tea was smooth and subtly fruity, with cream and sugar added all around. If you order the scones, they are not hard or dense like traditional scones. The blueberry and cranberry scones were soft, warm, and bursting with flavor that only enhanced the clotted cream and lemon curd that accompanied them.
The charcuterie board is a delightful addition to any meal. The hummus is flavorful and fun, but make sure you try the watermelon radishes. You can’t go wrong with tea sandwiches, but their regular sandwiches are lovely meals, and don’t get me started on their salads.
Their pot roast is eye-crossing, yummy-groaning-at-the-table good – so tender you almost don’t have to chew it. The savory gravy is more of an au jus and beckons the mashed potatoes. I didn’t even add butter!
The honey does not get lost on the thick slabs of tender Honey Garlic Pork Ribeye, with a twist of garlic to keep it from being too sweet. The maple-roasted sweet potatoes were like eating the best of Fall rolled into one side dish. The Chicken Bacon Mac and Cheese dish is a comfort meal for your senses. The flavors and textures swirl around in your mouth and, like the cheeses, pervade every corner of the pasta.
One of my all-time favorites, which I could eat every time I visit Nosh, is their Tuscan Chicken. The pasta has a spiral, “corduroy” feel to your tongue that holds up to the chicken breast and the thick, creamy sauce full of sun-dried tomatoes and spinach.
You must try dessert if you have any room left after your meal. We had Red Velvet Cake Dots and Lemon Curd and Maraschino Cherry Pastry Cups, both of which were the “cherry” on top of a perfect lunch.

Not long ago, some of the ladies in our Book Club went to this restaurant on a Saturday morning. Among us, we, of course, had different types of food choices. All of us enjoyed our food, and the staff was helpful and friendly. Their tea is on point. It’s a cute place that is not overstated. It is also small enough to feel a little intimate.
While I was there, I noticed they had a glass room for larger parties.
I was soon to cohost a bridal shower, and we decided to do a tea at Nosh. Theresa was very helpful. She explained everything. The glass room was $200. You can look at the current prices online for tea party set-up/guest. We bought the smaller Tea package per person. It does come with a little food. And I do mean a little. It will feel a bit pricey for what you get. I did order an extra vegetable tray for $80 and a basket of scones for ?$ so we could have more food.
I was also told that each member in the party could start their own ticket for food if they would like.
When I got to the tea party early, I noticed the vegetable tray. It looked about $15 worth of food. I realize I am not only paying for the food, but work involved. But it was quite small. There was no art to the display, just some vegetables on a plate with some ranch in the middle. I thought maybe it was a refillable, but I was told it was not. When I asked about individuals starting their own ticket and ordering some food if they wanted, they said they did not have the staff to do that during events like these. I was quite disheartened about the communication error…and a bit embarrassed.
The goodies that went with the tea tasted ok. Nothing note-worthy. When eating at the restaurant with my friends, the food was really good. Again, the tea was on point! They have lovely choices.
So I would highly recommend the restaurant, but I would be hesitant on recommending a tea party. It’s quite expensive for what you get. Staff communication was a bit off (reason for 4 stars), but overall they were helpful and friendly.
For reference, I’ve included the $80 vegetable tray (plus tax and tip-so almost $100) to show you an example of what $80+ will get you. I’ve also included a $60 vegetable tray that my friend recently did who owns a catering business (yes, with a store front in Moore). She puts such pride in her work. I guess I was expecting more food like this and a pretty display!
I’ll be back for their usual food and cozy...
Read moreThis was our first and last visit to Nosh. It’s in a hole in the wall. The catering van is a GIANT eye sore with all of its rust and dents parked right in the front. The employees took up all of the front parking space (this is a total assumption based solely on the fact that there were 14 vehicles in the parking lot and only 2 guests in the entire restaurant) The service is lazy. The waitress asked what we would like to drink. I asked if the had tea. She responded with “yes”. Do you have sweet tea? Again, her response was “yes”. Is it Lipton, Louisian, Red Diamond or something else? Her response was “I don’t know what kind it is”. I asked is it possible you could check? Her response was “I didn’t make it. I don’t know what kind it is.” It seemed she was shocked I was even asking. I then asked well What kind of soft drinks do you have? Her response is “We have Coke products”. My son, of 8years old says “they only have Coke”. I asked the waitress what Coke products do you have? The waitress never responded, she just gazed away as if I didn’t ask. My wife gave the answer. I got irritated and said we will just have waters. Then, of ALL the tables to be sat at because there were only 2 other guests in the ENTIRE dinning area; they sat us by the kitchen door. The CONSTANT door knocking in and out of the kitchen is VERY annoying. I understand the reason. Really I do. But if it’s THIS quiet in here, and there are 3-5 employees constantly back and forth through this one door, the constant knocking, is quite annoying. We left. We could not take it. So we don’t know what the food is like. However, with service the way it is.... I couldn’t imagine the food being...
