Huang's Chef — Restaurant in Mooresville

Huang's Chef is the worst Chinese restaurant in Mooresville. I went there to pick up a takeout order. There was a kid behind the counter that could not have been more than 10 years old all by himself cashing customers out. This itself is a huge violation of labor laws with working a minor. When I walked in he asked for my number and told me my food wasn't ready yet. I asked him, do you know how much longer it will be, and he just responded with a NO! Other customers around the area were rolling their eyes at the kid like he treated them the same way. Then after waiting 15 minutes and seeing a bag of food sitting on the counter since I got there, I went up and checked the receipt on the bag. It was my order! When I asked the kid about it, he said he must of mis-heard the number I said. I then quickly paid for everything to try to save what little heat the food had and rushed home. Come to find out my food was not only cold, but I was also missing items. When I called the restaurant and spoke to the owner to tell them what I went through, not only were they very rude, but they could care less. The owner said they wouldn't give me any credit, and I would have to come all the way back to the restaurant in order to get my missing items. I see with a lot of other reviews, that this is a common occurrence at this restaurant. There are a lot of better choices for Chinese food in Mooresville. Today was the first time I placed an order for pick up. I ordered 4 dishes to go from the menu on their website and got the cash from my coworkers according to the amount + tip published online. When I picked up the food, the owner of the restaurant charged me $8 more (not including tip), when I asked him about the price difference he immediately disrespectfully told me the information posted on the website is 15 years old and I should have been smart enough to read the fine print that prices are subject to change. I was astounded by his unprofessional and disrespectful behavior not to mention his disregard for information which is posted on HIS OWN WEBSITE. So for 15 years people have been ordering food and paying incorrect amounts?

Huang's Chef in Mooresville has always been my own personal favorite not just for pick up, but for delivery and eating in the actual restaurant. This restaurant was much more cozy and elegant as well as relaxing than I anticipated from the shopping center strip location.

The wait staff was very attentive and very speedy. The waitress gave us a big smile when she saw that we ate all that was put in front of us. It was delicious The hot and sour soup was one of the best that I've ever had. It was not too salty like some but had a deep beef flavor and was ornamented with nice vegetables. It had a nice afterburn. The wonton soup was the same. The minimal amount of salt in it made the deep chicken flavor and the meat stuffed Wonton sing. Kung pao chicken followed along with a rich sauce pork lo mein. They were both among the best I've had anywhere on the East Coast.
