Stopped here on the way home from a day spent in Camarillo. We were in the mood for Mexican food 😋 and after looking up top rated restaurants on the way home, we decided to stop at this place in Moorpark. The restaurant is located in a shopping center and for a Saturday I was surprised by how easy it was to find parking (literally in front of the restaurant). Upon entering it was quiet/empty, the servers greeted us kindly, and we were quickly seated. We were sat in a booth near a window which was nice considering it was a nice day out and highlighted their outdoor seating area. The chips and salsa were brought promptly to the table. The chips didn't have much taste to them but the salsa was pretty good. The food arrived in a timely fashion (I ordered a combination plate 🍽 with a cheese enchilada, shredded beef taco, and rice and beans). The beans were a bit salty but edible, the cheese enchilada was fine, but the rice was a bit bland. Overall, it was an okay experience as the host, hostesses were very friendly and attentive but I probably wouldn't go back for the food. It was filling for the moment but not memorable for me unfortunately 😕 😔.

Been coming here for 25 years... awesome little restaurant! Had the ceviche, fish tacos, and street tacos... all for the first time. Sadly, none of the three were up to Lalo's usual standards; ceviche was bland and lacking in that citrus zing... carnitas were overcooked and tough in the tacos... fish tacos were really tasty, but the black beans were really watery and bland. Chips and salsa were fresh and excellent as always. Restrooms clean, nice dining room, great service... they have super nice people working here 😊 Drinks were terrific as usual, beer cold, margarita made just right. Hope to give five stars next time! _________________________________________ Ok, updated review! Went recently, and Lalo's was awesome 😁 They have redone the bar, and even the food tasted better this time. So glad to see it back to being an excellent neighborhood restaurant... stop in and try it! I had shrimp enchiladas... mom had Camarones al Lalo's... chips and salsa of course... just a wonderful meal.

Great place . Standard menu for Mexican cuisine. Offers Al fresco dining. Clean and well kept. Portion size and price are appropriate Tricky to locate but can be found in the middle of the strip mall. Parking is abundant Great for date night, a quick bite for one, or meeting with friends Food was good and tasty Quick service. I have the fish tacos and they were yummy

Service was super great! Friendly and very professional staff. The establishment was well kept and relaxing. The food looked great when I walked in.The chips and salsa were rather okay. The food was not exhibiting a real or authentic Mexican flavor. Their albondiga soup had a very strong lemon flavor. It was nothing close to the many other albondiga soups I've had at home or in many other Mexican establishments in the US and Mexico. The bistec encebollado had a soy/sweet/Worcestereshire sauce on it... this killed the dish and took away from the flavor of the steak and onions. The steak was somewhat burned while the onions were caramelized just right. I really was hoping that all they would use was plain salt and pepper. The beans tasted like they came from a can... I hope not. Overall the food was, like one of my Caucasian friends put it,...
