Social Q Smokehouse — Restaurant in Morehead City

First time trying Social Q, my daughter and I decided to sit at the picnic tables to enjoy our meal. Within seconds we were battling tiny ants crawling on our food trays. Not enjoyable, seagulls were flying around aggressively which became so uncomfortable I got up to go get to go boxes leaving my daughter to protect our food but the seagulls scared her and she became overwhelmed and couldn’t fight them off!! The filthy birds grabbed our ribs right off our plate!! 🤬 The workers saw this happen and said they are never like this and offered to replace half of my half rack of ribs only. I would’ve liked to have enjoyed the whole $50+ meal with all the sides I paid for or my money back but ended up having to throw away because of the invasion of seagulls and ants! Prices are too high not to be able to enjoy my food while it’s hot instead of take out only! A little bug killer to deter around your tables and a walk across the street to EJW for some fishing line would do the trick!! Tie the line across all your posts over the tables and you won’t see the birds again!! Not a great first impression!! Eat at your own risk or lose your food...

We were out of towners. We live in Connecticut but from Virginia. Sis family in Virginia. Brother family and parents live in Florida. Aunt from Illinois. We meet once a year at emerald isle. This bbq was hands down the best bbq we have ever had. We ordered an assortment (brisket, brisket burnt ends, turkey, chicken with white sauce, pulled pork jalapeno stuffed, cornbread, baked beans, Mac and cheese, etc.). We then couldn't help but order the brisket grilled cheese and rib for the car ride. Jesus. Everything was fantastic and best BBQ any of us have ever had!!! The ooo's and ahhhs at dinner from all that are spread across the eastern seaboard + Illinois. Not only this...we forgot our jalapenos so they drove them to our rental house 30 min away. Service too. Wow!!! Can I figure out how to have u guys deliver/ship to atleast Connecticut? I don't want to go a whole year without.....

Seriously....is it possible to figure out how to ship your food to me in...

If you are ever in Morehead City Social Q Smokehouse is a "Must Visit" experience. When I travel, I research to find local BBQ joints that are highly recommended. I did not do that for this trip, but I was lucky that during my stay a couple of people randomly mentioned Social Q. I stopped there on my way out of town at the end of my trip. I will be returning the next time I stay at the beach! I had the brisket sandwich and it may have been the best I have ever eaten. It is very apparent that the person who created the menu, the individual that tends the smoker and the food prep staff all really care and understand what they are serving. The meat was tender and extremely flavorful, the buttermilk slaw and Monk mustard were a perfect mix that left me planning my next visit. These guys do it right!
