10/3- This is in response to the restaurant’s reply to my original review.
Let’s get the record straight. It was after 5:00, and the doors were still locked. Please don’t misrepresent what happened. I was there and know exactly when the doors were unlocked.
Next, I never complained about the curry being too spicy. The server asked what spice level I wanted, and I said mild. That was the entire exchange. At no point did I complain about the spice or the food’s flavor, so that statement in your response is simply inaccurate.
As for the $100 tip on a $48 bill, that was solely for Jasmine, who was the only person that made me feel genuinely welcome. She was friendly, attentive, and professional — everything you’d hope for in good service. That tip reflected her performance, not the overall experience.
The food was good, but good food alone doesn’t guarantee a great dining experience. When staff come across as indifferent or unapproachable, it takes away from the atmosphere. If everyone treated customers the way Jasmine did, this restaurant would absolutely earn the 5 stars it aims for.
I always support local restaurants and give fair feedback. But instead of acknowledging the points I raised, the management’s public reply felt defensive rather than receptive. True professionalism comes from listening, not deflecting. A little accountability goes a long way in keeping loyal customers.
Initial Review** Happy to support a local business, but this restaurant won’t do well if the front staff continues with the same unpleasant attitude. Other than Jasmine, most of the waitresses come across rude or uninterested whenever we visit. We’re never greeted, and the customer service feels more like an afterthought than a priority. They really need to take a course in basic hospitality and customer service—because good food only goes so far if people don’t...
Read moreAn Unforgettable Thai Sticky Rice Experience in Morehead City
From the moment we walked in, the experience at this gem in Morehead City felt like a warm embrace. The star of the night was Thai sticky rice, prepared to perfection and served with a level of care that turned a simple meal into a weekend highlight.
Jasmine, my server, was a joy from start to finish. Her genuine warmth and attentiveness made us feel instantly welcome. She anticipated my needs with a smile, offered thoughtful recommendations, and checked in just the right amount of times to keep us comfortable without ever being intrusive. Beyond her excellent hospitality, Jasmine’s kindness and easygoing personality added a personal touch that made the whole evening special. It’s not every dining experience where you leave feeling like you’ve made a new friend.
The food itself was amazing. The Thai sticky rice was perfectly steamed—glossy, fragrant, and with the ideal chewy texture that kept each bite interesting. The accompanying flavors—savory, slightly sweet, and just the right amount of fragrant coconut—were balanced beautifully, showcasing a mastery of technique and a deep respect for the dish. Every element, from the aroma to the final bite, spoke of quality and care.
In short, this restaurant delivered not just a meal, but a memorable weekend experience. If you’re in Morehead City and craving authentic Thai flavors, this is the place to go. Highly, highly recommend—steam, flavor, and service that leave you grinning long after you’ve finished your plate. I can’t...
Read moreThis establishment is situated within a shopping district. Upon entering, we encountered a slight sense of disorientation, uncertain whether to take a seat or wait for a table to be assigned. Fortunately, the bartender, attuned to our confusion, informed us that we could settle in. While the server was occupied at another table, we settled down. As we waited, we discovered the convenience of ordering our food via our mobile devices. However, we were not greeted for approximately five minutes. Eventually, the server approached our table and inquired whether we desired to place an order through our phones or if she should proceed with our request. Given the extended duration of our wait, we opted to order from our phones. For beverages, we opted for iced Thai teas, which were exceptionally delightful. Our appetizer, Thai House dumplings, was satisfactory, earning a rating of 7 out of 10. My fiancé ordered Drunken noodles with a spicy level of “spicy,” which were quite palatable. However, my dish, the Yellow Roast Duck (medium spice level), emerged as the culinary highlight of the evening. It was generously portioned and accompanied by a side of white rice. The sole drawback was the exorbitant price of $38.95, a reflection of the current market conditions. For dessert, we indulged in Mango Sticky Rice, which was satisfactory. Overall, while the dining experience presented a certain financial burden, it was an enjoyable experience...
