Cracker Barrel Old Country Store — Restaurant in Morehead

Worst service I have every had at a restaurant, first time that I have every saw to go trays come out before all of our food it was like they where try to just get us out of there , my son food all came out at the same time mine was another story I order sampler platter my meat loaf and chicken dumplings came out after about 5 minutes I ask about my side which was mashed potatoes, Mac cheese and biscuits, she brought out my mashed potatoes , and I ask where was my Mac cheese and biscuits,about 5 minutes went by and she got my Mac cheese, still no biscuits,so asked about them she brings out my biscuits and to go drinks that I had not ask for and still have received my tots which I had order while we were looking at the menu . Keep in mind I had to go trays she had brought out and the bill before I received my mashed potatoes, Mac cheese, and biscuits. After we had eaten ask where my tots was she said o I bring them right out this was like 50 minutes or so after ordering them , before she brought them out she bring me out another bill and said I don't think I got your tots on your bill , I said yes you did and showed her the bill . So we wait another 5 minutes for them . I told the lady at the register about it and she said I could talk to manger about it , the manger was working the grill line and was busy , so I left and called back to talk to the manager she was still busy they took my name and number down and I still haven't received a call from them . I try calling back that evening and was told that they would call me . The food was wonderful the service sucked big time our waitress name was Amber and I think she had 4 star on her name tag , I have to say she was not a four star by any means. I usually left 15 to 20 dollars tip but this time I left nothing. Hopefully she well treated the next customer a little better . We chose Cracker Barrel today because I’m on a special diet right now, and the menu items were appropriate for me. I ordered the grandma’s French toast platter. I ordered fried apples for my side. The French toast came out with measly little cold slices, with cold butter dumped on it, and cold syrup (I ordered sugar free, so it came out in condiment bowls.) When I asked the server to have the syrup warmed up because my French toast was so cold, she mentioned she had asked the kitchen help if they really wanted her to serve “that”… meaning even she noticed it was subpar. The response the kitchen help gave her was “Yes, and get out of my face.” I was very hungry so I ate it…. I really should have sent it back. I was given another syrup but that didn’t really help that much. I’ve ordered French toast many times before, it was always served warm, and the pieces were so big I had trouble eating it all. The scrambled eggs were also dismally cool. Again, I’m on a special diet and was so hungry I ate them without complaining to the server. I did tell our server I should have sent the French toast back when we got ready to leave. Fast forward a few hours later and it hit me that I never got my fried apples, which I did pay for. I don’t live in Morehead but our daughter does, and she told me that she had heard from others that this location seemed to be struggling again. I’ve been to a Cracker Barrel two other times while on a trip south last week, and we had much better (and hot) food at those locations. Our server was generally good, but she was definitely running between several tables, which I’m sure helped lead to her forgetting my apples. I gave “atmosphere” only 1 star because it was a very cold, brisk morning, the temperature in the restaurant was cool, no fire in the fireplace, and the restroom water was ice cold. If I could I wouldn't give it any stars and I love Cracker Barrel, we pulled in and no one was in the parking lot, we walked in and got sat immediately which was cuz it was empty maybe ten guest during a rush (we were traveling) we then waited 35 minutes for our food which I did order a chicken breast but everything else was quick food which then came out cold when I had to say something about it I politely told them our food was cold we were then met with complete aggression from the staff; the server shut down totally and ran to the manager, the manager then proceeded to jerk the cold food but hot plate off the table towards my elderly mother then threatened to call the police (in front of my five year old child) bcuz I told her logically she could've acted better then when I called her bluff on the police and again she should act more professionally in front of and to guests and she should apologize for threatening the police in front of my child they then told us to leave and we were not allowed to pay which I deemed that they were gonna state we refused to pay since they already threatened the police, upon receiving the check it was charged extra and they tried to charge the food that we never received as well.
