Overall, it's not worth the visit right now. Maybe a dine in experience with a ton of spare time would've been better. Might try again in a few months after they get more comfortable since I LOVE the Ashland location. Definitely need to revaluate their to go ordering system. Let's get into the details.
The good: nicely decorated, clean, bartender was very helpful, staff was friendly. However, I personally go to a restaurant to eat. Not to admire decorations or chat with staff.
The bad: We got there right as they opened the doors, and we were the first ones to put in to-go order. Somehow, there were people getting to go orders before us. OK, fair enough, maybe they called them in? Seems unlikely to me since when I called, I was told that no orders could be placed before 11 and to call back after 11. We were directed to sit in the back corner of the restaurant while we waited. We were not permitted to sit at the bar or near the doors due to the fact that "it got too crowded yesterday." It's not too terrible except for the fact that the speaker back there is both incredibly loud and cuts in and out randomly throughout songs with an agitating static sound. Ok, whatever, we won't be here long, right? So wrong. An hour and a half. New business just opened. I'm expecting a little bit of a wait, but an hour and a half? For the first people to order? During this time, we watched the table next to us be seated, eat, leave, be cleaned, be seated AGAIN, then be halfway through their meals before we ever got ours to go. There's no reason I can possibly think for that to have happened. Couple that with the fact that our tickets show our order wasn't even put in until 11:35 made for a very frustrating wait. I had enough time to go to the bar, order, drink a mocktail, and still sat back down to wait longer. There was a woman who came in 30 mins after us who was told it would be a 15-minute wait on takeout. She waited for 30 minutes and then left without her food. We had already paid and figured we would wait it out. Our meals start to come out, and there's 10 minutes in between each order. By the time we left, the first person got cold soggy fries because she had to wait for every else's food to come out. The waitress apologized for our wait but offered no other consolation. For an hour and a half wait, I would've at least given a couple of coupons or a small discount as an apology. The food itself was hit or miss. I could tell the loaded fries had potential to be good, but cold fries and stuck together cheese are not tasty. Philly cheese steak and reuben were average, not bad, but the bread was soggy from the wait. I do not recommend the Mac and cheese at all. Obviously, it was cold, but even warm, it would have been a tasteless stuck together mass of pasta. I wanted the onion soup that I had at the Winchester location, but they were out, understandable, but still disappointing. Chips were so great while warm, pimento cheese was good, but be warned it is on the sweeter side if that isn't your thing. The ranch was delicious, as were the burgers I was told by my coworkers.
Despite the good this visit was altogether an uncomfortable, long, hangry, wait. It is far too loud and crowded for me to ever consider coming with small children, so lunch break would be the only time I could really stop by. However, I highly doubt that anybody has well over an hour to wait around on food, much less have time to eat it. If I had to guess, I would almost say the waitress forgot to put our tickets in, whatever everyone makes mistakes. But to me, the important thing is to own up to the mistake and fix it appropriately. Not to completely ignore the fact that there is an issue. This is disappointing to me as I actually quite like FP, just maybe not this...
Read moreThe hostess was nice, and I was seated quickly. Amanda was my server. She was nice, and she did a great job. Got my orders taken care of and filled my drinks when needed.
The restaurant looked nice and clean.
Menu needs to show sandwiches come with fries or a side. Needs to have the list of dips/sauces, and they need to print a kids menu. Also need to add drinks available.
The kitchen was a bit slow, but they had just opened. I hope they either speed up or get more staff to handle the load. I'm not sure which is needed or both.
Food.
Fried picked were great. They were cooked well, breaded well, and drained well. I hate getting these at some places, and they are not drained well and are served in a pile of grease.
Southwest egg rolls came out cooked but could have stayed in a litter longer to give the outside a crisper texture. I did order some to go, and they were cooked longer. Thank you. Presentation could have used a little garnish. Another place I get these at serves them with a bit of sour cream, chopped lettuce, and chopped tomatoes.
The club was done well and had a good presentation. Fries were good but in my opinion could use some seasoning.
Togo (didn't get pictures)
2 orders of kids corn dogs to bring home to my kids. Fries were good. Corn dogs were borderline done a little too much, and started to darken/harden around the cracks.
Brought my wife home a bacon Mac patty, and she said it was large and delicious.
Jukebox was a little loud and I was a little annoyed when I played a song the volume went down enough it was hard to hear what was playing.
I have seen the bad reviews but if this place improves in a few places I'm sure they will be a great addition to Morehead. Apprevements needed didn't warrant giving a 4 star in my opinion but would have been that or less if the service was as bad as some of the other reviews. I hope they reach out to those who have had a bad experience and try to make it right or at least try and get to the bottom of what happened.
I live almost an hour away so I don't know how frequently I will be able to frequent the restaurant but I would...

Upon arriving, the hostess told us there is a shift change and we couldn't be seated and that it would be a 15-30 minute wait despite multiple tables being open. Wait was around 10 minutes and we were seated in the area that was open when we originally tried to be seated.
After 5 minutes of being seated, our waitress Morgan stated this was her 7th day in a row working and her brain wasn't working. That's when we should have left.
Appetizers took 45 minutes to get to our table. The bretzels with beer cheese were excellent! The fried pickles were battered in plain flour so not much flavor and the breading was coming off. The potato boats were cold and didn't have much flavor. Our drinks remained empty for 10+ minutes.
We ordered our main food at 4:50pm. At 5:35pm, we flagged down the waitress and asked for the status of the order. She came back at 5:40pm and told us that our main order was never entered in the system. She apologized and said she could put in the order now (and it would be at least 30 minutes for our food) or we could pay for the drinks (2 waters & 2 sodas) and 3 appetizers and go somewhere else. I said I didn't feel we should pay for anything because of this experience. She got an attitude and said she'll get a manager and then walked to the back. Came out several minutes later and continued to wait on other tables without acknowledging us.
Waited over several more minutes for the manager. Manager never came out from the back. We spoke to the hostess on our way out and she offered to get a manager, but we said we've been waiting for a manager and no one ever came and...
