El Pollo Loco — Restaurant in Moreno Valley

I’m not a big fan of fast food, but when I do indulge, I’m selective about where I go. My top choices are Cava for its fresh, healthy options and El Pollo Loco when I want to treat myself. Unfortunately, every time I visit this particular El Pollo Loco, I end up disappointed—either the portions are too small, or the food is overcooked and dry.

Tonight was no different. I chipped a tooth on an overcooked chicken wing, and my chicken breast was so small it looked more like a chicken thigh. I was starving, and since I use a cane, I didn’t have the energy to go back and complain. So, I just powered through—swallowing a piece of my broken tooth in the process. I was beyond frustrated, but hunger won out.

It’s frustrating how some fast food restaurants treat paying customers like they’re handing out free meals at a soup kitchen—tiny portions, poor quality, and an indifferent attitude, all while charging sky-high prices. I only resort to fast food in emergencies, and even then, I’m rarely satisfied.

For comparison, the Cava location I visit consistently gives me good portions and quality food, but I can only speak for my personal experience there.

If you’re looking for small, tough chicken that still tastes decent, this El Pollo Loco might be for you—just be sure to check your food before you leave. They tend to package it in covered containers and slip it into a bag, making it easy to miss the portion size until you’re already gone. I let it slide tonight, but I won’t be coming back. The prices are too high for such small portions and poor quality.

I swear i never give a place a terrible review but this El Pollo Loco dun brought the frustration out somethin terrible. El Pollo Loco's food is so great but this review isnt about taste. Its more about drive thru service! I promise you, everytime i go here my order is wrong. Then when i explain wht i ordered which they have correct on the receipt, the women give super attitude. I dnt get tht from the guys if they get the order wrong. Quick apology & we move forward by takin care of my order, but everytime its a female, there's always a fu**ing attitude. Its not my fault you guys got the order wrong. When asked if i wanted salsa, i said "Yea can i jus have like 4 green salsas plz!" She says "Yea i gave you 3 already!" I said "well i cant have one more?" She grabs it, throws it in the bag, & hands me my bag as if she's sayin she jus done with me completely. I jus drive off, but then notice i didnt even get the tostada salad i ordered! I go inside & explain tht i didnt get my tostada salad. They hand me one already made with chicken. I say "No i got the fajita tostada salad with shrimp instead of chicken!" I even paid the extra $1 for it! She starts takin the chicken off the first salad before she jus decides to make an entire new one but she was obviously pissed. If I could leave 0 I DEFINITELY would. Never order the Chicken Tostada Bowl I order the Double Chicken one and still received the amount you get for the non-double I’ve gone in twice to complain and they agreed it wasn’t drive thru ask the cashier if it’s double because it looks the same as regular “she’s days I give you what I give you I’m the cashier not the cook” I ask her to give let someone else know this isn’t the amount for double theres barely any chicken then she says “I’m giving you what I give you” that’s absolutely ridiculous on TWO occasions already I’m not given what I PAID FOR and ONE occasion the cashier didn’t want to help me and pretty much told me to leave.
