Nice People. Bland Food.
My wife and I went here for breakfast as it just recently opened. We are optimists at heart, and love to try new places. We figured, we’d give it a shot and see if it would hold up to our question rating system... “Would you com back here again?” I’ll break the experience into 3 parts:
COFFEE At the start, we ordered a coffee that tasted like it had sat out for awhile and a bit burnt. Hoping to get a good cup of joe, we ordered cappuccinos that they were really machine made hot chocolates presented in a coffee mug.
FOOD My wife ordered the all American and I the Mexicali. Ok food, but bland overall. I wouldn’t mind it, however If it looks like I could make it, why go out? We figure, it’s called Country Waffles, not All American and Mexicali breakfast. I was excited about that, but once again, it was ok. The waffle mix was bland and a little over cooked.
EXPERIENCE From the time we ordered our food to the moment we were served was about 35 minutes . Being in the service industry I could see where the hold up could be from watching the wait staff. A couple next to us even had their order misplaced and waited even longer.
SOLUTION If the restaurant reads these reviews, I’d have a suggestion. Organize the order and delivery system. Upgrade the “cappuccino” machine to a cappuccino machine. Keep your friendly staff. They just need your direction.
To answer my question at the beginning. Would I come back here? Maybe later, once I’ve forgotten about this review...
Read moreThe food was tasty, the staff was friendly, the place is clean and very welcoming...unfortunately...the service is horrible meaning, there is a lack of staff, and the lack of good customer service. I hate to give this place a bad rating. First, the staff at the front door tells me there is a 45 min. wait for 2 people (cool, I'll wait) waited in my car for 20 min., come back in and the staff tells me she called me 15 min ago..what?! Okay fine, ill wait another 25 min. I then waited another 25 for coffee, 30 min. for food, gobbled my food! (30 min), waited for refills, 15 min., waited for our check 20 min., waited for the staff to come back to get my card 20 min. The staff finally took my payment, they forgot to give me my card and waited another 20 min. for them to realize that they did not give me my card back. You may be thinking "why didn't you just flag someone down?" I did in the beginning of my waiting trajectory" and the staff disappeared and did not help. The staff needs a lot of training in customer service. The staff walks around with horse blinds. I will never go back to this place. Disclaimer- it was Memorial day but the restaurant was not packed. To add, they were not serving waffles today! Lol, go figure. This bad customer service is a sign of lack of good leadership. I hope they...
Read moreFirst time here and we will be back. I wanted to try the Waffles and also ordered the Joe Omelette which was splendid. The facility used to be a Sizzlers Restaurant, and they had to close down because of the nasty COVID back in 2019. Reyna was our waitress, and she was excellent and professional and courteous in her service. The coffee was nice and hot. The Blue Berry waffle was yum yum! ¡¡Muy Bueno!! The pancakes were also a hit with my lady. She enjoyed the fluffy and consistency in the batter made the pancakes proper for the belly and the palate. The facility was nice and big inside. A lot of room and they even had an extra room in the back section for private parties or meetings for any companies that wanted this restaurant as a company event. The place is in Morgan Hill California 18 miles south of San Jose and enjoyed finding something different in another town. They close at 2pm so they are open for breakfast and lunch. The food...
