Only 3 stars for the reasons below but we still frequent this cinema for good movies because of its convenient location. It works out well enough if you know how to work the system.
BAD EXPERIENCE: My first experience here was terribad because it was free seating and they oversold seats. An usher misinformed us that we could try for the next viewing on the same ticket. When we took his advice and came back at the next viewing, the manager became hostile and took his anger out on us for acting upon bad advice given by HIS ushers. It was enough to stop us from coming back for months. The whole horrible experience was something I'm not used to, coming from Asia where going to the movies is an affordable but seriously fantastic experience (3d, imax, beanieplexes, twin seats for couples, and more).
EXCEPTION TO THE RULE: Later, I discovered a redeeming exception. So our advice is: when buying tickets online, check for listings of "reserved seating only". At least then you can choose your seat and have that exact seat guaranteed available to you when you arrive.
IF YOU BOOK AN OPEN SEATING TICKET: You MUST come at least an hour early to camp out on seats to ensure you get good seats. For popular movies - you'd risk getting...
Read moreGroceries, movies, laundromat, furniture, frozen yogurt, gasoline, bocce ball, banks... this place has just about everything in a single location. Safeway is very popular, as is Panda Express, Joann Fabrics, and the CineLux movie theatre which means the parking situation can be tight at certain times despite the parking lot being rather large. The various smaller shops between Safeway and the theatre add to the sporadic crowding near those two anchor businesses. If it's a holiday weekend and a popular movie is playing, you might get some decent exercise walking from your car to the store. The separate "mini-lot" of parking spaces in front of Joann's is inconvenient if you want to hit both Joann and Safeway; you have to push your shopping cart around an island. My main reason for giving Tennant Station 3 stars instead of 4 or 5, is the scary and, imho, dangerous uncontrolled intersections created by various engress and egress paths, aisles of parking spaces, and the funky parking areas along and around the secondary shops nearest to Tennant. Seriously, a few strategically placed stop signs would make this shopping center much less dangerous...
Read moreWe like coming here to this local movie theatre it's usually not crowded even on premier movie nights. I haven't had a problem at this theatre with any annoying disturbance(teens/kids sneaking in and talking loud) in the movie theatre unlike Gilroy's, don't go there. Popcorn is always fresh and always enjoy their variety of candy.
We had one experience recently. My daughter couldn't find her purse and after thinking where she was the last time she had it we came to a conclusion that it had to be lost at the movie theatre. We took a chance and went to ask if they had found a purse and they looked and they had it in their lost in found! One of the staff members mentioned they had found it that day, and he turned it in to their lost and found. Thank you guys for your honesty and the fact that they do clean after each movie...
