First off, let me say that our family LOVES this place and regularly go there. This is the only place we eat AWESOME Mexican dishes. We've never had any problems and the reason why I'm leaving a review of my family's experience is because we love this place and genuinely want them to continue to be successful; but there are some things that should be addressed to create a better dining & customer service experience.
Let's start off the review with the few Good highlights. The first being the two helpful young women (likely younger than 20 & with long hair), who eventually rang my mother & brother up and served them. The second being the quality of food, it's always DELICIOUS which is never an issue.
Now, for the Bad. We can't forget the stars of the show. First, the older male worker (average body build, no facial hair, probably 50s-60s, with grey/white short hair & near average 5'7"-5'8" height). After 19 minutes of waiting & continuously being passed over in line, my mother asked the young lady who we praised before "Which line is now for the to-go orders? I only ask because I don't want to cut anyone in line but, there seems to be some confusion on which line is which?" The lady replied that "her English wasn't good" and apologized. My mother & brother were behind a couple paying for their to-go order and after they left, he stepped up to the register as he was next in line. When he saw an elderly man on a cane approach from the side, he wasn't sure why there were suddenly two lines being formed after there was already an existing line. The worker looks at both the man who just got finished eating and my brother, my brother stepped up as he was next in line & said "Hello, I'm here to pay for my to-go order." Then, the worker told him to "wait as he was going to check out the newly random side line" that was formed despite the ALREADY EXISTING one he was in. Even the person behind them who was trying to pay for their meal left the original line because he noticed people were getting checked out in another line. He was also casted off from the same worker despite being there before ANYONE from the second line showed up. In the past 8 or 9 years, my family has never been so mad that they considered walking out of the restaurant.. until today.
Due to a combination of rude people not speaking up & jumping a preexisting line with their own makeshift and the male worker prioritizing a random line before a preexisting one; a discussion would highly be recommended to help construct a better & easier flow of check out. Clearly, everyone in the originally formed line were all there to pay for our orders. Who was next in line, should've been respected. We have never had an issue with service because we know it's generally a busy place. This however, is on principle and it's on common sense. All we needed to do was state the order name, pay and then step off to the side like we always do. We would've been ok to accommodate if there was some question as to who was first. Problem is, it was clear who was. We're not blaming the entire restaurant, just the guy who was ignoring the to-go order line (who later went back behind the bar). Thankfully my order was correct, but my mother's order lacked bean dip & dressing for the salad. Normally small slip-ups happen & we understand so that's not the main issue but it doesn't help either. Again we LOVE Las Salsas and we hope in the near future they can either make a CLEAR separate register for To-go orders only or be blessed with a bigger building to accommodate the huge increase of new & local customers.
Thanks again to the younger worker at the front who eventually rang my family up. She was very good at serving customers and did her best on typical busy weekend lunch. God Bless y'all...
Read moreI recently dined at Las Salsas and it was hands down one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. I ordered steak and shrimp fajitas for two, specifically requesting zucchini instead of mushrooms due to a mushroom allergy. My dining companion ordered the same meal but with mushrooms, so the distinction should have been clear. Despite this, the waitress brought us both identical meals, including mushrooms in mine.
When I reminded her of my allergy, she rudely asked, “So you want another one?” in a dismissive tone, rolling her eyes in the process. I reiterated my allergy and requested a fresh order. She left with the plate and returned much later with what was obviously the same meal, picked over to remove the mushrooms. Unfortunately, there were still mushrooms left on the plate, and the food quality was terrible—the steak was overcooked, the shrimp was cold, and the dish was generally unappetizing.
To make matters worse, the waitress never brought tortillas or checked back to provide the sour cream I had requested. Throughout the interaction, her attitude was consistently bad—she rolled her eyes multiple times and seemed annoyed to have to provide basic service.
Frustrated, I asked for a manager to address the issue and stated that I no longer wanted the meal nor would I pay for it. When the manager arrived, things escalated further. She approached the table with an attitude, raising her voice and pointing her finger at my dining companion, mistaking her for the one with the issue. Her behavior was unprofessional, hostile, and completely unacceptable.
In the end, I refused to pay for the fajitas and only agreed to be charged for the appetizer. Between the rude waitress, poor food quality, and the hostile manager, this restaurant has serious issues with both service and customer care. I will never dine here again and strongly recommend avoiding this establishment if you value good service and respect...
Read moreCame to las salsas on July 24th for my birthday, everything was going good until a cockroach ran across the table from under my plate. Me and my mother reported the incident to the waiter who acted like it was no big deal. Fast forward two months to September 24 and it's my fathers birthday. We had a pretty decent size group so they put us at a table towards the front. Over in the corner where the highchair is kept, I saw around five different cockroaches running across the floor,up the walls, and up the highchair and that's just the few times I paid attention. It's obvious they are infested with cockroaches now, I won't be back till I know for sure they have took care of the situation, just praying I don't get sick tonight.
Update: It's been 2 years since the cockroach incidents and my mother wanted me to pick something local to celebrate a recent sale transaction she had. I told her it's been a couple of years lets give las salsas another try. Hopefully the bug problem has been cleared up. Didn't see any bugs this time so that's a plus but I was really surprised how bland the food was. I ordered the fajitas with shrimp, steak and chicken. The shrimp wasn't even grilled just steamed and I remember the shrimp being one of the best things in las salsas. The food had no seasoning at all. There was plenty of it and it didn't taste bad but I definitely remember more flavor with las salsas food. Also what's the deal with Mexican restaurants in this town not bringing the fajitas out while they are sizzling and steaming like they used to? I've noticed this in other places. Was there a lawsuit or something...
