We love Village Inn the ones in Hickory we have never had any complaints about. This one was very disappointing. The restaurant itself was really dirty. When we got there there was 5 empty pizza trays on the buffet and the older lady standing there said she was going to wait by the buffet because she said, " they are only putting one pizza out at a time and everyone sees it and runs up here." She said, " I'm too old to run and she chuckled. She said," we just wanted some pizza and a nice salad today and it looks like we ain't going to get either one." I ask a female working there how much longer it was going to be and before I could finish my sentence she said, "How long before what" in a really snide voice. I said " obviously Pizza pointing to the empty and dirty pizza buffet. We was there almost an hour and seriously the older lady was right. They was putting one pie out at a time and some people once again didn't get not one slice. It was sad to see these two older people trying to get something to eat. Especially after they paid the prices there. Please clean this place up. And please think about those elderly people that was there today. Just think if that was your parents....
Read moreI live in Knoxville, TN so this is a long drive for pizza but Village Inn Pizza is the best anywhere and all their locations are only in NC. They have cauliflower crust pizza which is usually terrible but this is the ONLY place that knows how to make it right. Owner(s) of Village Inn please build a restaurant here in Knoxville or perhaps Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg. Doing that would be a smart business move because people from all over the world come to those 2 tourist cities. You would gain a lot of new customers and so many people could share their good experience with others from all over the country and world. There used to be a Village Inn in Knoxville in the 1970's when I was a young child. Please come back to TN. Preferably Knoxville. We are a large city so you would have lots of new business. There is NOT 1 pizza restaurant in Knoxville anywhere close to the quality of your pizza!!! Long live Village Inn. I will be back soon as I 40 East is repaired....
Read moreSo me and my girlfriend was in the area and took a visit. I have to say for a mom and pop, it was very delicious!!!!
The pizza was hot and salad bar was cold as it should be and let's not forget the option of soup or pasta! This is a first for a mom and pop diner.
Pricing wasn't over the top either decently priced.
The cleanness is very good too. We loved how open the diner is as well. The feeling of having room to move, have a personal conversation without being on top of each other, and the tables were clean as well.
The only thing I was suggest is having a larger variety of pizza choices such of flavors and tags that show the pizza I am getting.
The chocolate pizza made me hesitate because I didn't know what it was but curiosity took over and we had one slice a piece.
The sauce wasn't over bearing either which is plus.
I love the idea of pay first because it eliminates the dine or dash option.
Nicely done and we can't...
