So today is Friday May 9th 2025. My husband and I went to dinner here this evening around 5:30pm. We eat here all the time and I have to be truthful about the Morganton NC, Longhorn Steakhouse, the food is always hit miss, but at least the main Manager Wayne always tries to make things right!! We have spent a ton of money here ever since the doors opened to this restaurant, so we would just love to have a meal come out right the 1st time. So about tonight. My husband ordered 6oz. Filet mignon cooked MEDIUM and a lobster tail, rice, broccoli. I ordered a 6oz. Filet mignon cooked MEDIUM, rice and a Ceasars salad. So 1st off they brought my salad and then less than 40 seconds out came our entrees. The filets were cold to touch so I knew they weren't cooked right. I was right. They were rare, both of the filets. So now we have to have them take them back to recook and now my husband's lobster tail is cold, our rice is cold and his broccoli is cold. Not a good experience to say the least. I have never seen the Manager on duty tonight and he thought we were joking!!!! Not joking!!!!! I hate cold food!!!! If it's supposed to be a warm meal then that's what I want. So the Manager says I will take 25% off your meal and we said we just want our meal to be right for a change!!! Then we asked him for a piece of the strawberry shortcake and he had the audisasity to charge us for the strawberry shortcake!!! I mean really who could have the nerve to do that!!! That would be the least that the Manager could have done!!!!!!! We both are very disappointed in the whole experience tonight!!!!!! Plus with Olive Garden getting ready to open up, Longhorn will be hurting for business then!! Because we will and would definitely go to Olive Garden over Longhorn when they open up!!!!!!! Longhorn you need to do better!!!! There is NO EXCUSE FOR 2 PEOPLES MEALS BEING COMPLETELY MESSED UP!!!!!!!! MOST OF THE WAITERS AND WAITRESSES ACT LIKE THEY COULD CARE LESS IF YOUR MEAL COMES OUT RIGHT TO ORDER. IT IS UP TO THE WAITRESS TO MAKE SURE THAT YOUR ENTREE DOESN'T COME OUT UNTIL YOU HAVE YOUR SALAD AND ARE FINISHED EATING IT!!!! THE WAITRESS NEVER GOT ME ANYMORE TEA!!!!! THIS TIME AT LONGHORN WAS TOTALLY ONE OF THE WORST!!!! AND WHO EVER THE MANAGER ON DUTY TONIGHT, SIR YOU NEED TO GO BACK TO MANAGER SCHOOL!!! I UNDERSTAND YOU MAY HAVE SOME PEOPLE WHO COMPLAIN ABOUT EVERYTHING AND TRY TO GET A FREE MEAL!!! WELL THAT ISN'T US....WE HAVE PLENTY OF MONEY TO PAY FOR A MEAL. WE SPENT AND WAS CHARGED $70.00 TONIGHT FOR A HORRIBLE MEAL PLUS NOT COUNTING THE TIP WE LEFT!!!!!!!! DO BETTER...
Read moreI’ve eaten at this restaurant a total of 4 times, and I’ve been mostly very satisfied. The service has been great, the restaurant appears clean, and the food has been good. Love the warm bread and butter spread.
However my most recent visit, I ordered the ribeye w/loaded potato and salad and was a bit disappointed. The salad was top notch and very big…better side salad than you’ll get most anywhere else. The loaded potato was cooked well and hot, but the toppings were minimal and only really only enough to accompany about 1/4 of the potato. I ordered a med rare steak and it came very rare which really wasn’t a big issue since I eat rare too. But the seasoning was over the top and was way too salty (and I like salt). Add to that the knife was incredibly dull and could not cut the rare steak and just mushed it up.
The waitress recognized that I wasn’t eating the steak and wanted to make it right and I appreciated that. But cooking it longer would just sear that saltiness further into it so I said to not worry about it. I was full from the bread, salad and potato so no big deal. My friend said their steak was overly salty as well though they ate it anyway.
So really my main complaint was the steak, and being a steakhouse at $25/meal, I’d think the steak should be the one thing they get right. I’d imagine they had a new cook because no way that steak came from an experienced cook.
My advice is to special order “light seasoning” and medium cooked if you don’t like rare steak. I will eat again here in the future and appreciate the waitress for trying to make...
Read moreMy family's time at Longhorns was excellent. There was never a wait on drinks, the appetizer came out quickly after our drink order and long enough before our entrees that the appetizer was truly a compliment to the meal rather than taking away from it.
The entrees themselves were excellent. Me and my wife both got steaks cooked medium. That's usually risky at most restaurants as I have recieved alot of rare steaks asking for medium, and a few that were well done and closer to a hunk of leather. Not these steaks however, her's and my own were cooked perfectly and therefore were incredibly tender, juicy and flavorful. The knives we recieved with our meal couldn't cut bread but glided through our steaks.
My daughter's kids meal was also very well prepared. Though she ordered the chicken tenders and when the orders came she preferred our steak to her tenders, they were still greatly well made. My brother ordered the chicken parmesan, which is a departure for him he almost always orders a burger or chicken tenders, but he was very glad to step out of his comfort zone this time and order...
