Origami — Restaurant in Morganton

Got the shrimp teriyaki with two spring rolls, onion soup, and sweet tea to go. Wait time was about 15-20 minutes per car. There were about half a dozen cars in the drive through so It took just over an hour between pulling up to when I got handed my food. I do recommend this place and I will go again when they are not as busy or dine-in to try other things on the menu. Here are my personal ratings for each thing I’ve tried so far.

Shrimp Teriyaki - 9.0 Pretty good.

Shrimp sauce - 9.5 Really good. Comes in 4oz, I should have asked for an extra because I use a lot of shrimp sauce.

Onion Soup - 6.5 Too salty, I can tell the flavor is really good if the salty flavor wasn’t as strong.

Spring rolls - 7.5 Didn’t enjoy the deli meat flavor.

Sweet Tea - 8.5 Some of the best tea i’ve had from an asian fast-food drive thru. I got the regular 16oz but it also comes in large. Should have asked for a large tea because I finished my tea before I was done eating.

Pricing was pretty parallel to other asian drive-thru places. I understand they just opened so I didn’t mind the long wait time in the drive thru. Food was worth it. Staff were polite. Time to try the ramen and sushi next! It will be nice to finally have a ramen place...

We ordered takeout. I called it in then when I got there half the order was complete and sitting on the counter while my meal (ramen bowl w/udon noodles, boiled egg, cabbage, corn, chicken, chicken /mois broth) was being prepared. I said that I don’t mind waiting but was concerned that my husband’s meal would get cold. When I got home my meal was very bland (no flavor at all) and my husband’s was lukewarm. I took my meal back and got my money back. When I talked to the owner she was defensive and basically called me a liar. We did go on the first day...

Food is decent. A bit overpriced for what it is. Also, they have no plates or silverware, so everything comes in styrofoam boxes and containers, even when eating in.

Service is slow and lacking. There we three of us, the other two were half way done with their meal by the time I got my food.

Dining room is tiny and close to a point of being almost claustrophobic. The line from the front register often reaches to the door, so diners eating have people standing over...
