pizza is ok. my family and I recently moved to the area, love pizza and order 1/2 white 1/2 pepperoni pie every Sunday. (white side cuz my son is allergic to tomato) lovey’s is conveniently located close to our house. we started ordering delivery and soon realized it could take up to an hour and half to get a cold pizza for delivery and we live a few blocks away. so we opted to get pick up, which could go from 20 minutes up to an hour so prepare to wait. now more than a few times we given them up to 30 minutes and got there to find the pie was not even made because the order got lost and they did not even acknowledge it but were rude when asked “how long”. that still didn’t deter us from ordering, we just liked the convenience. it was up until they gave us what seemed like a plain pie 1/2 pepperoni 1/2 dots of ricotta. i called to let them know about the mistake and the person who said he was the owner offered to send a new one over but i had to return the mistake which i thought was a good way to mend things up. but when i asked how long it would take, the guy started screaming on the phone saying that he was “hooking me up”. i said he wasn’t hooking me up because i had pay for the pizza. he just said “go look somewhere else” and hung up. there are 3 more pizzerias around this area so i will take my business where it is appreciated and you should...
Read moreI don't know what went wrong, but this review went up with the incorrect rating. Corrected it just now.
I should note that I would always give Lovey's a 5-star review. I'm a little remiss because I don't recall doing a review, and I've been getting pizza at Lovey's since I moved to Morris Plains over 28 years ago. Here is a story about Lovey's Pizza quality:
A few years back we had a bad snowstorm that brought down a lot of trees. One came down in my yard and knocked down my power line. Out-of-state power company trucks came in to help repair things, and I had a First Energy (Grrrr!) truck from Indiana parked in front of my house with two technicians just... watching, to be sure the downed hot power line was safe. At dinnertime, we ordered from Lovey's (no power in our kitchen!). I felt it would be bad to get pizza and eat while the power company techs just sat there, so I got them a pizza and some wings from Lovey's. Later, they told me it was the best pizza they'd ever had, and asked where they could get more. So I gave them directions to Lovey's, though I suspect some of this was NJ pizza being generally the best. Later, they bent the rules a bit to help me make the right request to their managers that would allow them to spend the 10 minutes necessary to restore my power much earlier than expecteed.
So Lovey's saved me from a long...
Read moreI remember Loveys Pizza growing up in Parsippany. I used to run there to get a slice. It started on one side of the street and then ended up a few years later across the street in the old Hershey Ice Cream shop. The Pizza was good then and it is still good in Morris Plains. I love how they occupy the corner spot on the street, just like back in the day. The pizza parlor becomes a fabric of the neighborhood. Based on all of the local sports memorabilia in the Pizzeria, they still support the local sports teams. Now on to the Pizza. I really went in undetected to get my slice, which was piping hot, and needeed a long time to cool. This made it tough to evaluate the slice as I had to work around it. The crust is the star of the show. Nice crunch and it keeps the Pizza in place, there is no Flop on a Loveys slice. The cheese was good and provided a good ratio with the sauce. It was a solid 4 stars. The parlor just opened so everyone was busy, so I didnt get the chance to talk pizza with them. Though, I think they will be in the semi finals in Morris County on Pizza Hunters App, which would me we would visit again. Great...
