I arrived at 6:44pm on a Friday evening for a last minute date. We sat at the bar. We received menus and placed drink order after a 2 minute wait. The waitress didn’t introduce herself, which is a personal pet peeve of mine.
At 6:50pm, we ordered mozzarella sticks as an app. At 7:02pm, the waitress finally returned, which I felt was too long as we knew what we wanted shortly after placing the order for the appetizer. I got the bbq chicken Philly with fries. I also ordered a sweet tea. My date got the classic cheese burger with an extra patty. I received my sweet tea fairly quickly.
Sitting at the bar provided a front row view of the restaurant dynamics and interactions between the staff. There were only 2 waitresses. It wasn’t super busy when we arrived but it got busy. They needed help. I did see one young male who was bussing tables. I noticed 3 people in the kitchen.
I noticed orders were pouring in. I witnessed food that was ready sit for an extended period of time before they were given to the table. This was the case for our mozzarella sticks, unfortunately. We received it at 7:05pm. Thankfully they were still warm, at least (not hot as it would’ve been). To me, the mozzarella sticks weren’t worth $13.
Around 7:11pm, I heard a cook (maybe Jay) ask the waitress if she was telling people there would be a wait. Her response (or lack thereof) indicated that she had not. Then the cook told her that she should start letting people. That cook was witnessed to take on a leadership role to get things going and moving. He had the busser help the waitresses deliver the food because food was sitting for a while. The busser looked confused. The cook who seemed to take on a leadership role came out to provide additional guidance. I believe I heard that his name was Jay. While I was disappointed to not see the owner or someone in management present to help, it was good to see him step up.
I ran out of my sweet tea shortly after I got it. Waitress never came back to refill. Thankfully the other waitress checked in on us and provided my refill.
Our food arrived at 7:37pm, which was 35 minutes after placing the order. My fries were barely warm and a little salty. My bbq chicken Philly was hot, fresh, and delicious! Wow! My date’s sweet potato fries were pipping hot and they were delicious! It comes with a cinnamon type sauce that was tasty too. My date has been here several times before and they always get the sweet potato fries. It is a $2 up-charge but I recommend getting it!!
While eating, I could overhear the main cook (Jay) tell another cook “I don’t have any gloves on” so he couldn’t do a certain task. I liked hearing that because they showed a dedication to food safety.
Per receipt, our waitress was Riya. While she was friendly, attentiveness lacked and she often appeared overwhelmed.
The meal total was $60. On the receipt, I also noticed that it says a black bean sandwich vs bbq chicken Philly which makes me wonder if I ate the wrong thing. I honestly have no idea. I looked at pictures and couldn’t tell how it was supposed to look. The “chicken” on my sub wasn’t bite sized grilled chicken and I didn’t see that in other pictures. Nonetheless, I still enjoyed it. It was $9 to make a single burger a double, which is outrageous, in my opinion. They also charged a fee for using a card for payment vs cash.

Read moreLet me begin by saying that I eat here at least once a month and usually have had a good experience, less one or two times where the food was burned. But today, if there was a zero rating I would have chosen that. My daughter, grandbaby and I arrived to an almost empty restaurant at 11:30 am (2 others). Possibly new waiter served us, buzzed hair but with a long blond hair on one side. We could tell he was struggling. We had to repeat our order several times. The baby was restless so I asked for crayons, which I knew they had, but few seemed to know where. 35 mins later my daughter’s Quesadilla arrived and waiter said there had been a mess up, in the kitchen, with my 3-cheese sandwich and it would be out shortly. Since our arrival, 8 more people had arrived and 4 WERE SERVED BEFORE MY CORRECTED SANDWICH. On top of the additional 20 min. wait, my sandwich arrived burnt and with the wrong ingredients (pickles, onions, relish added) waiter said I asked for these added items. I did not. I get the same meal EVERY-TIME I EAT HERE. And there were no fries. I asked for manager, who obviously didn’t want to handle a disgruntled client, as it appeared he was hiding by sitting below the bar counter height. He finally greets me and I shared my frustrated and said that I would not be paying for their mistakes. I asked how 2 other tables had been served before my order? I also asked if they were under new management because it was a terrible experience. I even asked if Vincent was still the owner. I try very hard to stay calm and patient with food service because I know so many places are short staffed and over worked but guess what?!? There were 3 cooks, 2 servers with a total of 12 total clients. Very disappointing! Even my calm daughter said, “Things have really gone down here.”...
Read moreVery bad experience tonight. Was there with a friend and his kids. Including us there were people at maybe 6 tables but they had only 1 person waiting the tables so it took awhile to get our order in (didn't see the manager helping with that). All the kids ordered Mac-n-cheese and fries and we ordered the impossible Philly sandwiches; mine with no jalapeno. It looked like there were 3 working in the kitchen so I thought the food would come out fairly quickly, but no. It was over 20 min for the first items, the sandwiches, to come out. Another almost 10 min for the first two bowls of Mac-n-cheese to be brought out and another almost 10 min for the other two. Another 5 min for 3 of the fries to come out and another 5 min for the fourth. When I looked at my sandwich I saw they had put jalapenos on it. I can't tolerate very spicy food so I sent it back. Instead of making a new one the cook just removed the peppers. The waiter actually knew that's what was done and told me saying the kitchen staff was grumpy and argumentive about it and he couldn't get them to do anything else. It was getting so late, and I was really hungry, so I tried to eat it but with the juice from the peppers being in the sandwich I could only eat about a third of it before my mouth and throat was on fire (even tried putting ranch dressing on it to mellow the capsaicin). I ended up regretting eating it because about half hour after leaving I had major heart burn. The waiter tried to make amends for my sandwich and the slowness in the kids food by discounting all our food. I've been here as few other times and never had this kind of experience. This may have been a one off night for them, and I will probably come back again to give them another chance, but if I have a repeat experience I...
