Wow! So ordered for the first time tonight a couple hrs ago. Talk about a hidden gem! Such wonderful people first of all. Warm, welcoming, friendly. Stephanie called me and asked if 20 min for my order sounded better than 40... is that the best thing a hungry guy could ever hear?! ...and also asked about the details for each of the orders - so thorough! Breakdown: Arugula salad was crisp and fresh, simple and effective. Aroncini was awesome- I forced myself to leave some for later lol -- Meatballs were generously sized & the sauce + ricotta is SO fresh. Flawless. The very addictive gnocchi is def all these other reviews built them up to be, thats for sure -- My fav of all tho, is the sausage and peppers. Blew my mind. A hot little oval-shaped mix of hot paradise, took me into another dimension. I can't wrap my mind around why those peppers had such perfect consistency. I was thinking how is this possible? It's not something you're gonna get in many places around here. I laughed at myself when i realized I was licking the tinfoil when I was done šš -- cannolis really legit did melt in your mouth (just like Luca said!), and I have to say even the focaccia was incredible when dipped in w the sausage and peppers. I was made to feel so comfortable in there, despite me often feeling the opposite when meeting brand new people -- Stephanie (who is so kind) even encouraged me to look back into my Italian roots! After this experience, you'd better believe I'm going to š®š¹ Thank you Steph & Luca, you made my night And you'd better believe i'm gonna be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMorton isnāt anywhere near my trajectory on the way home from work. Nor would I expect it to be home to one of the best chicken cutlets Iāve ever had.
Lucaās Cucina was recommended to me by a good soul who knows I appreciate a good cutlet.
This is a newer spot, maybe open less than two years. The menu is compact - there arenāt a thousand options to choose from. Itās a good thing and allows for the kitchen to execute precisely and consistently.
Chicken Milanese with gnocchi was my choice for the evening. The cutlet was fried perfectly - not greasy at all. It wasnāt overly salted or spiced. The crispy edges couldnāt have been better. The arugula and shaved parm tossed in balsamic balanced everything out. The gnocchi were very well done. They almost looked like little scallops in the red sauce. Next time Iāll go with the pesto.
Itās takeout only. I was starving, so I downed the whole thing in the SEPTA parking lot. Maybe next time Iāll hit a local park up and find a shady...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI stopped into Lucaās Restaurant earlier this week to take one of their menus. After meeting Stephanie and Luca, I was excited to order from them. They were both so gracious! Two days later, we ordered more food than we normally do because we knew, from friends and reviews that Lucaās was a great find! My husband ordered the Veal Parmesan, I ordered the homemade Gnocchi della Casa: tomato sauce and shrimp. We shared the Polette: homemade meatballs with tomato sauce (SO DELICIOUS) and ricotta cheese, plus a side of escarole and beans, finishing with Pistachio Ricotta Cake. I also asked for a side of the pesto sauce, which was so incredibly delicious!
Itās so nice to know that we wonāt have to drive far to get fabulous, homemade Italian food. You will know as soon as you walk in, and are greeted by the lovely Stephanie and Luca that you will be having a...
