Steak & Fries of Morton — Restaurant in Morton

If you're in a hurry, do not come here because the owner is cashier, cook, and janitor. You will wait a bit and even longer if others are in front of you in line. I ordered the small fry with cheese and Philly steak sandwich. The small fries must of had over a cup of salt on them; way too much and I could not finish them because of that. The cheese sauce he served tasted weird and was very bland, not good at all. The Philly steak sandwich was good even though the tomatoes were mostly white in color. I think he should LIGHTLY salt the fries and maybe get one other person to help him part time so people don't have to wait so long to get their food; he would probably get more business too. I had never been to this place before but a couple co-workers swore how good this place was and they've been going here for years so I'm like okay let's try it you walk in not dirty just old er more like Mom and Pop a place you would expect to get really really good food and what I had was really good food and everything to co-workers had was really good too everybody raved about it I thought the price was very doable and selection was very wide open and nice I will definitely be going here again the next time I'm working in Morton would have given it five stars took a little longer than I thought it should be as a cook personally only reason why it didn't...

I wanted to give this place benefit of the doubt, after reading reviews. It was awful. I just threw away my lunch. The sandwich was somewhat edible, but bread was very hard to chew. Also hardly any meat. The fries were what I looked forward to, and they tasted awful. Overcooked, and possibly freezer burnt or old grease? It was a weird taste I couldn't shake. That aside... it was expensive for the quality, absolutely. And also I wish I had just turned back around after seeing the kitchen state.... so filthy. I won't be back. I had hoped it would be as good as Steak&Fries in Peoria, but...
