Old fashioned Goodness galore!!! All the pies are terrific, my favorite is Triple Berry and when I serve one or gift one to someone, it is the highest offering I can give them. "Wow, you're giving me a pie from the Confectionery??? "Everyone goes nuts over them. Their cookies are addictive. Especially the Oatmeal Raisin ones. So chewy and great flavor. And when they make special Pumpkin Ones, well, those are a favorite too. Before I retired, when I wanted to treat my co-workers at the library, the coffee cakes were a great choice. Frosted with white, or topped with pecans and sweet syrup, both are super with coffee or tea or milk, Yum! The people are so friendly and helpful and go out of their way to provide what you might need, opening early mornings to suit the early- to- work people. Walking in and sniffing the wonderful smells is a treat in itself. In short, you can't go wrong at The Confectionery in Morton, Illinois!!...

I was a little disappointed with this shop. I’m new to the area and was looking for a new bakery for goodies.

Upon walking in, there was no greeting. I walked around to see what was available. When I asked about what kind of donuts were in the display, it was if I was bothering her. Prices were a bit high ($5.35 for 7 mini cookies) I thought they would be amazing for that price, unfortunately they were not.

The cake donuts were good, a little on the dry side. Pecan rolls were my best find there, they were better warmed up. The banana cake had a lot of flavor, but again a little on the dry side. The cinnamon rolls were good, also...

I had another fruit-licious pie from The Confectionery today. This time I opted for a mini cherry pie. I'm not sure why...strictly speaking, I'm an apple or pumpkin pie girl. The cherry pie was staring at me, in the display case, saying bite me. So I did and I'm not mad about it. In fact, I was quite delighted with this delicious, slightly tart piece of heaven. And the crust....I love a good pie crust and this crust was perfectly flaky, light. My husband opted for some pecan oatmeal chocolate chip cookies for this dessert choice. He shared one with me and it was tasty...the pie...
