Our first time there, and we probably won't be back!! On to the positive first, the food was pretty good... I'm not surprised because its hard to screw up basic scrambled eggs and bacon. My husband ordered chicken fried steak and he said it was good.
Anyway, the major issue started when they sat us at a table of 4, when we had 5 people. No problem, but with the social distancing they claimed pulling up a chair wasn't going to work due to the guidelines. We were more than 6 feet from someone and probably exactly 6 feet from another table. They said we can sit there until a table of 5 opens up, but we can't be served. After 15 minutes or so, we asked to sit outside since there was no one out there.... After awhile we were moved and pretty much forgotten about after that.
From start to finish it took approximately an hour and 15-20 minutes to get our food!! My 8 and 6 year old kids were starving!! Then, in between all the waiting, and during eating you'd think the waitress would check to see if we needed water, or more napkins, etc. But NO, she was terrible. She gave us the bare minimum attention and service. The generic, "Have a good day" as we left, but no apologies for our wasted time. In the end, its not worth it. If you are single or have 2 people, maaaaaaybe, but honestly I don't think anyone should give them their time.
The only reason why I gave 2 stars is because the food tastes good (not great), but everything else is 0!
To add, seeing folks served when you were there first.... seeing people being served, eat and LEAVE and you still haven't been served NOTHING but the luke warm juice! Ugh, my spirit and mood was completely ruined!!!!! I wish we would have...
Read moreUPDATE: 7/28/22 I wanted to come and rave about this joint because even after all weve been though as a country, as a community...THIS PLACE STILL ROCKS!! It was my boyfriends first time coming here since moving from Arizona and absolutley loved his Omelette, he created his own with all the fixings and it was so delicious! This place is one of the best breakfast spots in town...great food, once portions and lovely customer service!
This is the second time my Mom and I have gone to this diner for breakfast (Thanks Momma❤️❤️❤️). We both had the Steak and Eggs Plate, it comes with hashbrowns and your choice of toast...we chose rye and asked for over easy eggs! JUANITA, you were absolutely amazing, thank you so much for giving us great service and for the lovely conversation, in general. I'm overly satisfied with our visit and can't wait to go back! The Chef and Owner, Foster, came out to see how we were doing and if we were enjoying our meal...how sweet, right!? This really was one of the best steaks I've had in town..juicy and cooked exactly how I wanted it! The first time I tried this spot, I had the Biscuits and Gravy Plate, it comes with two eggs and the gravy is sooooo good, nice and "sausage chunky" haha. I definitely can't wait to go back and try something new. Thanks...
Read moreI didnt take pictures as the food wasnt worth the effort.
It had been a couple of years since visiting Mom and Pops, but the quality of food has gone down hill drastically.
$3.25 for their drip coffee that has a cheap taste to it, it wasn't robust or refreshing and didn't have that aroma of a fresh brewed coffee.
The hashbrowns used to be crispy and fluffy. Now they're crispy and greasy.
The bacon I received was really hard and crispy and was definitely overcooked. It was as if I was eating a stick of bacon bits.
I ordered eggs over medium and received eggs over easy.
The Chicken Fried Steak had an off putting flavor to the meat. It tasted like sausage and beef mix, however I couldn't pin point the exact flavor. It just didn't taste like a steak.
The gravy was definitely not made fresh today, it had clumps and just didn't taste like homemade gravy.
Before we left my wife's stomach became irritable and we had to pull over at a gas station so she can relieve herself.
I also had to use a restroom about thirty minutes after.
Mom and Pops had the best breakfast in Moses Lake, but not anymore. We will not be going back to this...
