Red Bicycle Coffee — Restaurant in Mount Juliet

We arrived and ordered at 10:11am, Saturday, September 14th. We ordered coffee, two burritos, and two sandwiches. We got our receipt and sat down at the booth closest to the bar.

Around 10:25, Half of the Food we ordered came out and our order name was called. We got the coffee, one sandwich, and one burrito. The hot coffee’s were not hot, but lukewarm…. we didn’t say anything about it. No need to, no big deal.

Around 10:40, we politely asked about the other half of the food… we were met with a pretty combative attitude right out of the gate, and were told they had orders ahead of ours. We were a bit confused by that as we had already received half of the order and ordered it all at the same time. But we accepted the answer without a fuss and sat back down.

For the next 15 minutes or so we continued to see food ordered by people who came in and ordered well after us cooked and served ahead of ours. It felt odd to say the least. We were watching people who came in after us finish their meals while we continued to wait.

Around 10:55ish we asked again, and once again received a VERY combative and rude attitude… we were then told that two separate tickets for our order printed. One at 10:11, one at 10:18 (weirdly under different order names). It is worth noting, at this point they were personally taking the orders to each table, when earlier they had called out our order name for us to walk up and get it.

Around 11:05, we realized half the food had been at our table for roughly 40 minutes and they still were not cooking the rest of our order. Other tables continued to be served before us. At that point, we asked for a refund. Again, the attitude received was rude, combative, and even a bit sarcastic. It felt like once we asked about the food the staff retaliated by deliberately not cooking our food and preparing food for others. Again, we were never even slightly rude to the staff, we just did not want half of us to have food while the other half waited for almost an hour. Has a coffee shop ever made you want to move so you could be closer to it in the future! Well, Those in Mt. Juliet, you have a true treasure in this place. You should check it out if you have not already. Perfect place for solo get some work done. Have a mentoring time or some deep 1:1 friend time, check! Big group looking to hag out. Done! This place has it all. Oh, and that was just the building.

Food was fantastic! My standard fair for a new place is a cortado (to try the espresso), popular food item, nice cold brew to wash it all down. Make one of those a seasonal, even better.

The Hangover is one of the top 5 sandwiches i have ever had! The flavors work so well together, and the bread was perfectly toasted on the outside so it was still soft.

I was fortunate to have the owners holding down the fort on the day I was there. They were so full of Joy and caring to everyone they spoke with. The were busy, working fast, but still personable.

This place is a solid 40 min drive from my house, but I will totally be hanging out working from here on one of my upcoming coffee shop Fridays.

Ok, back to the contemplated move. It was a close call, but I was stoked to find out they are also behind the RB opening up closer to my house soon, on Nolensville road south of OHB.

I am a self proclaimed coffee shop junkie. I have been to all the other RB locations and this one has a lot of catching up to do. The Nations location, to me, is the best. This was the third time I’ve been here and each time the staff have pretty much ignored me and been a bit snarky. I ordered online a drink and breakfast sandwich. No one greeted me as they even saw me standing there obviously waiting for something. (I saw my name on the ticket but there was no drink, so assumed they were still making it) Somehow it got missed, but one of the girls made it for me no problem. This has happened before. This store is completely lacking the normal RB vibe. Also, now I see that all the front parking spots are loading only, and I had to do 3 laps to find a spot. There are not even 1-2 pick up only spots like most other places. Very discouraging to want to go back again. Sucks because I was so excited to have one of our Nashville staple coffee shops closer.

** updated 4/28/24 I’m so glad we stopped in today! The weather was perfect to sit outside and it felt like I was on vacation. The ladies were very helpful with my questions and I ended up getting the most delicious crepe! The Hamilton!!

My friend got the hangover and loved it. The place was super clean, fresh smelling and had plenty of seating in or out.

Coffee still needs some tweaking.
